Chitradurga, Jun 21: Five persons lost their lives after a car hit a truck that had been parked beside the national highway near Javanagondanahalli of Hiriuyur taluk in the district. In this incident, six others suffered serious injuries. The accident happened on Wednesday June 20.
The deceased were Saddam Hussain (22), Tauseef Ahmed (24), Shahrukh (20), Saddam (21) and Asif Ahmed (20). Abdul Raheem (19), Muhammed Ali (20), Syed Meeran (20) and three others were injured. All the injured stand admitted into Hiriyur government hospital. All of them were from Tamil Nadu.
The entourage was returning to Tamil Nadu after undertaking a tour of Goa when this catastrophe occurred. Hiriyur rural station police visited the spot, gathered information and registered the case.
