Mangaluru: International Yoga Day celebrations begin in MRPL

Mangaluru, Jun 21: Fourth International day of Yoga is being celebrated all over the world on 21.06.2018. In this regard, MRPL is conducting a week long program and its inauguration was held on 20th June 2018 at MRPL.

Dr Thirumaleshwara Prasada H, faculty member, department of Human Consciousness & Yogic Sciences (Dharmanidhi Yoga Peetha), Mangalore University was the chief guest of the inaugural programme. A K Sahoo, director - Finance, B H V Prasad, GGM (HR) and other senior officers and employees of MRPL and CISF personnel participated in the programme.

Inaugurating the event, Dr Thirumaleshwara Prasada presented on the ‘’Importance and Benefits of Yoga’. He said that by practicing Yoga regularly, one can remain healthy and if someone is suffering from any disease, he can improve his health and reduce the usage of medicine by practicing Yoga. Right kind of food, right rhythm of breath and proper sleep is essential for a healthy life he elaborated.

A K Sahoo, spoke on the occasion and said that if he has to view it with respect to return on investment, the investment in Yoga is minimal but the benefits are huge. He encouraged the audience to participate and take benefit of the Yoga sessions planned during the week.

A yoga session as per the common yoga protocol is scheduled to be held on June 21 as a celebration of International Day of Yoga, which will continue for the next one week.
