Kolar, Jun 21: The economic offences and drugs control squad here has taken into custody a person who appeared to be a strong supporter of slain international terrorist Osama Bin Laden. He was arrested on the suspicion of his involvement with terrorist activities.
The arrested man has been identified as Chandrashekhar (42), native of Hosaguddada Halli, Bengaluru.
He was residing in the residence of Ambareesh in Hunasanahalli village, Bangarpet taluk in the district for the last four months.
Chandashekhar used to strongly criticize Mann Ki Baaat programmes of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in social networking websites. He was profuse in his praises of Osama Bin Laden. Some of his posts depicted Laden as his god. He urged everyone in some posts to indulge in terrorist activities.
The police, who questioned the person at an unidentified spot, are learnt to have recovered over 35 Sim cards from his possession.
For the people living around him, Chandrashekhar appeared like a mentally disturbed man, but no one imagined that he could be involved with anti social activities. He used to leave home early in the morning, and reach home during late hours at night. Most of the people confessed that they do not know anything about his activities.
