Beltangady: SP Annamalai, MLA Poonja push jeep stuck at Charmadi, pics go viral

Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady (SP)

Beltangady, Jun 19: On account of heavy rainfall recently, Charmadi ghat section of the highway had become slushy due to overflowing water and the road was closed for traffic due to landslides and fallen trees. In this gloomy situation, the silver lining was that local MLA, Harish Poonja, and Chikamagaluru district superintendent of police, Annamalai, were seen pushing a jeep together.

MLA Poonja had come from the direction of the town in a car and had crossed a line of vehicles stranded due to critical situation there. He noticed the condition of the unmoving vehicles. At that time, Annamalai came from the opposite direction and saw that the wheels of a jeep had been stuck in the slush. Both of them, helped by members of the general public and workers, pushed the jeep to safety. Annamalai's feet were deeply stuck in slush at that time but he did not seem to care.

They also arranged ambulance for some of the patients who were stranded on the ghat region too.

Social networking sites are full of praise for the two, for coming forward to help people in a critical situation, and becoming role models for the current day youth. The locals also said that if both the representatives had not come on time, the road clearance work would have taken a week's time.

    I am not really updated about which Mla is from which party.. but looking at the comments I gather Pooja must be from BJP. Because I have noticed here, whenever Congress does something is always great and anything that BjP does is Bad. Please learn to give credit where it's due. Stop being blind. Appricite a Mla who had come out to get his hands dirty.

    Without EGO's how our police officer helps to the other. Here one incident i recollect when I was working with Bank of Baroda our general manager was posted at nairobi as in charge of branches in KENYA. while he was going daily morning walking before reaching the beach one day his car break down and he was in dilemma suddenly another car stopped near his car and owner was asking what is wrong. then he realized there is some mechanical fault. he opened the car front repaired and car started moving. when our GM thanked him, asked about him. he was non other than president of KENYA. The moral is human being become great due to great deals they do.

    @Linoel,
    What about promises made by the politicians prior to 2014 ? you know what i mean ...

    Now dont say Modi has done nothing in 4 or 5 years ... we also know that its not been done in a same way what he as promised but sincere effort was there that no one can rule out.. if Dongi Congress would have shown half of the efforts in 60 years india would have been in better position now.. apart from corruption congress have done nothing ...

    EVERY POLITICIANS MAKE PROMISES BEFORE COME TO POWER BUT AS A COMMON MAN WE HAVE TO MEASURE ON WHAT EXTENT PROMISES HAVE BEEN FULFILLED.

    Now stop begging for 15 lacks, beggars job is to beg and responsible citizen has to earn the money through hard work.. SO STOP BEGGING FOR 15 LACKS
