Bengaluru: Moily says HDK need not worry about his 5-year term

Bengaluru, Jun 17: Former union minister M Veerappa Moily on Saturday, June 17 said JD(S)-Congress coalition government’s Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy that he need not worry about his five year tenure in the office as Congress and JD(S) formed coalition for five years and not just till next year’s Lok Sabha elections.

Expressing surprise at the chief minister’s statement, Moily told reporters in Chikballapur that the chief minister should refrain from making such statements as it would cast doubts over the stability of the government.

The chief minister’s post would not be rotated and the Congress decided to support Kumaraswamy as the Chief Minister for five years, he said.

Kumaraswamy on Friday had said that he will continue to be the chief minister of Karnataka till the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and nobody could disturb him from the chief minister’s chair for the next one year.

    Alignment with the BJP or Midterm elections for Karnataka Assembly or Migration from JD(S) to BJP operation Kamala cannot be ruled out. If Kumaraswamy wants a full five year term then he should allow the Congress to have 83% of Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka in favour of Congress and keep 17% for JD(S) ie., 24 for Congress and 4 for JD(S). Presently JD(S) has just 17% of the Assembly seats in its favour. This will ensure a smooth sailing for Kumaraswamy. In any case JD(S) has no roots in any other State of India other than Karnataka. So it is prudent Kumaraswamy reconciles to the Congress demand. Otherwise even Moily's assurance will be an empty rhetoric.

    HDK will not worry for 6 Month. you have to worry. Dr. Sudhakar Reddy already plan for you. how to send back from chikballapur. to Karkal.
