Bengaluru: Farmer issues become weapon for BJP to force government to kneel

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jun 16: BJP has decided to follow the strategy of using farmer issues as weapon to tame the state government during the legislative assembly session beginning in first week of July this year. It wants to highlight the state government's failure in issues like waiver of warm loans and payment of compensation to agriculturists for crop loss suffered by them on account of heavy rainfall.

Towards this end, former chief minister, B S Yeddyurappa, has fanned out six teams to different parts of the state to undertake tour of the state, conduct study about the ground reality relating to farmers problems, and submit a report to him by the end of this month. These teams will widely travel through the rural belts of the state in all the regions, get firsthand account of problems faced by the farmers, and provide the result of the study to Yeddyurappa. BJP will then use this information to attack the government on the basis of these issues both inside and outside the legislature.

B S Yeddyurappa

One of these teams, which would tour Vijayapura, Belagavi, Bagalkote, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada districts is headed by former minister and president of BJP state farmer wing president, Laxman Savadi. The second team headed by Shankar Gowda Patil will undertake visit of Ballari, Kalaburagi, Bidar, Yadagiri and Raichur districts, the third team of which Ishwarachandra Hosamani is the leader, is entrusted with the task of undertaking study tour of Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag and Uttara Kannada districts, fourth team with Nanjunde Gowda at the helm will visit Mysuru, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, as well as Chamarajanagar districts while the fifth team led by Pavitra Ramaiah will tour Davanagere, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Shivamogga districts. The sixth team under the leadership of Shivaprasad would be touring Bengaluru, Ramanagara, Chikkaballapur, and Kolar districts.

    Chaddiappa,
What is your contribution to Karnataka farmers as a Feku CM (twice), as MP, etc.?

Chaddiappa desperately wants to be in limelight (through the media) to get attention of Modi to hush up his failure as BJP leader.

When the time comes, Chaddiappa will run away from the assembly sessions, as he did since the latest elections!!!

Chaddiappa, if you mean good to farmers and the people of Karnataka (your past record shows otherwise) shut your foul mouth and join hands with people who work the good of others first.

Blame game or politics of farmers will do no good to any body. Collective and genuine efforts are required to solve the problems of farmers and also other problems. All parties should pool their expertise for the betterment of the farmers and also for the good of other people especially the poor. Thank you and God bless each and every one of us.

its going to be tough for the cong.
    JDS is enjoying good portfolios.
BJP is in opposition, also they are the largest party in the assembly, so they are going to ask a lot of questions.
Ultimately, JDS will take care of thier voters.
BJP is in opposition, so they will be shouting for thier voters.

Cong is niether in power nor in oppostion. they have enough dissatisfied mla's to create problems for them.
I think it is JDS that is going to have the honour of making karnataka -a congress mukth karnataka.

the ruling NDA bjp led government is not bothered about farmer issues. ten days all India strike by farmers were ignored by the government. because the government is only helping big industrialist who looted the government banks. now in name of NPA the bank liabilities have been settled by compromising the interest portion of loan to several crores of rupees. now suddenly our two days ex CM is becomes serious about farmers problems. a opportunist politician Karnataka ever seen. still he is dreaming to become CM by defection of MLA from other parties.
