Bengaluru, Jun 15: President Ram Nath Kovind has given his assent to Karnataka Extension of Consequential Seniority to Government Servants Promoted on the Basis of Reservation (To the Posts in the Civil Services of the State) Bill, 2017, for providing reservation in promotions for employees belonging to the SCs and STs, which was not approved by the State Governor Vajubhai Vala earlier.

The Governor, who had declined his assent to the Bill, had sent it to the Rashtrapathi Bhavan for approval.

Karnataka State Congress President Dr G Parameshwara, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister, welcomed the President’s decision to give his nod to the Bill.

He said the Bill was passed during the previous regime of the Congress government.

It was passed after serious debates for and against the Bill. Former Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra piloted the Bill.

Employees from all 30 districts came to the state capital and staged a protest to demand that Rashtrapati Bhavan take a decision on the Bill

The new law aimed at determination of seniority of the government servants promoted on the basis of reservation in the civil services posts of the State.

The State has been providing reservation in promotions for SC and ST employees since 1978 at 15% for SCs and 3% for STs.

So none of the political parties are interested in solving India's problems , they are only making strategies for more vote share from the vote bank class. Same situation like how students focus on gaining more marks and not knowledge. We have been brought up this way in our system of society. India's biggest problem is not any foreign country but our own booming population which we find hard to nurture, yet we make do with some adjustments , adjustments and more adjustments.......all knowledgeable political parties know this but end of the day none wants to touch this topic of population reduction......after all everybody wants to score marks..... knowledge Ko Maro goli......that's what we have been taught in our schools and colleges.
