Doha, Jun 6: Hanan XII emerged Division I Champions at the 24th Gulf Incon–Metabo Ramadan Cricket Tournament 2018 defeating CCRC team by 58 runs at old Ideal Indian School Floodlit Cricket Grounds.

Winning the toss, CCRC asked Hanan XII to bat first. Hanan lost the wicket of their opening batsman in the first over when the score was 8 runs. The other opening batsman, Aswar blazed away to give Hanan a good start and scored 25 runs in his allotted 12 balls with three sixes and one four. Hanan lost their best batsman Hameed and Saddam by end of 6th over to end with score reading 69 runs for loss of 3 wickets. Rauf and Imran accelerated from the 7th over and scored at a rapid pace and scored 41 runs in the next 3 overs. Rauf scored 41 runs off 16 balls with four sixes and one four and Imran scored 34 runs in 11 balls with four sixes & one four. Hanan scored 94 runs in the last 6 overs to end up with a daunting total of 163 for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 12 overs.



For CCRC, Hassan Sardar took 2 wickets giving away 29 runs in his allotted 2 overs. Abbas and Nixon took a wicket each.

In reply, CCRC started badly and lost 3 wickets at the end of 2 overs with score reading 16 runs. Thereafter, CCRC kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and finally ended with a score of 105 in their allotted 12 overs losing 10 wickets. Hasan Sardar with 28 and Nixon with 20 were the only batsmen contributing to the team total.

Suraj of Hanan bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets giving away only 17 runs in the allotted 2 overs. Husni and Faslan took 2 wickets each, Adil and Aswar took a wicket each and contributed towards Hanan’s victory.

For his all-round performance, Rauf from Hanan XII was declared Man of the Finals.

At the prize distribution ceremony, Sajjad Ahmed Khan, senior sales and marketing manager - Gulf Incon was present along with Rajkumar Selvarajan, credit inventory controller, Vincent Wimaldas, product manager, tools and equipment and Tuan Afaham Burah, Metabo, field specialist and Qatar Veterans cricket officials handed over the winners' and runners' trophies plus individual prizes. Complimentary lucky draw and refreshments was arranged for all spectators.
