Mangaluru: Dull response for bandh call is clear message to Yeddyurappa – Ivan D’Souza

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SB)

Mangaluru, May 28: Congress MLC Ivan D Souza slammed B S Yeddyurappa and the BJP for misguiding the people of Karnataka and creating confusion in society by calling for Karnataka shutdown here on Monday May 28.

Addressing the media persons, Ivan D’Souza said, "People have rejected the bandh call by Yeddyurappa and BJP. His attempt to create tension across the state and encourage violence has failed. By this the people of the state have shown their support to Kumaraswamy-led coalition government,”

“Congress and the JD(S) never told that they would waive farmer loans. There are certain formalities for it. First of all it is a coalition government and we have to sit together and discuss before taking any decisions. Without forming a cabinet it is not easy to declare it. At the same time we have to evaluate the current financial situation of the state. To waive the loans, we need fifty percent of amount fixed in the budget. So Chief Minister will hold meetings with various departments and take a decision in favour of the farmers,” he added.

He further said, “Earlier Jagadish Shettar and BJP leaders said that if state government waives the loans taken from local banks, Modi government was ready to waive loans borrowed from nationalized banks. When Siddaramaiah government waived loans of farmers borrowed from local banks, BJP led central government failed to keep up the promise and the state BJP leaders too failed to convince their national leaders in this regard. On what morality they are speaking on behalf of farmers? The farmers themselves have not supported the BJP and Yeddyurappa. They have realized that the BJP is trying to gain profit in farmers’ name,"

“The farmers and the people of Karnataka know how a coalition government functions. They are ready to give some time for government to fulfil their demands. So Yeddyurappa’s plans will not work and poor response to today’s bandh itself proves it,” he added.

“The BJP is engaged in criticizing the Congress and JD(S) for forming the government. Governor gave a chance to Yeddyurappa to form the government on the basis of majority. But he ran away from trust vote. It clearly shows that he had no trust on his MLAs. Later Governor invited us and we formed government. What was wrong in it?" he questioned.

Reacting on elections from teachers' and graduates' constituencies, he said, "K K Manjunath is our teachers’ constituency candidate and Dinesh will contest for graduates’ constituency. In the last election both the candidates were defeated with small margin of votes. But this time they will win the battle,”

Yeddurappa and the BJP are only giving vent to their deep frustration in that the EVM's failed them and the back door entry with the help of the governor also failed.

High time Yeddurappa opts for retirement aand hands over the party to the next generation.

    Yet another Feku!

It's not Siddaramaiah's era. It's HDK & DKS. HDK has put facts forward, Ivan why are you saying that JDS has not spoken of waiving off the Loan?

We have seen you being driven on the wrong side breaking the road rules when you come to Mlore Congress Office. We know you want to gain prominence but do so by following and speaking the truth.

One of most entertaining time , I have in the evening infront of TV, is when Mr. Ivan Dsouze appears as a Congress spokesperson. He doesn't know what he talks and generally his subject is always minorities. He thinks he is the only person who knows everything.(which unfortunately borders on stupidity). God only had to Congress party with such people as its spokesperson.

Good question. Please note, the election mandate was in favour of Modi, not state BJP Leaders/candidate. However Bandh requested by State leaders/candidate so, people didn't respond.
That's why we see change of voting pattern compared to MLA and MP election.

Rightly said Bhandarkar Sir.I doubt whether all these messages are reaching to Ivan D'Souza. He is just simply a opportunist. There are several leaders in Con who are experienced and seniors did not come forward to utter these words. He is just showing the leaders that he is an important person.Question is Whether the Rest of Legislatures will go??Vacant positions must be filled with elected MLA's. Not the back door entry .If should be given on caste basis there are many other leaders are available i each constituency. need to identify and should be given chances.we have not seen any single Praiseworthy comments on this person.

    1. All your overrated , over hyped congress colleagues have been wiped out in the coastal area?
    2. Siddu was reduced to a JDS peon who had to broker this shameless deal for Congi survival.
    3. Your party president the Mr. Bean is out on a foreign trip and his coalition partner is running around like a chicken without a head,

Don't get too excited so soon. Not supporting bandh call does not mean BJP lost support in the state particularly in the twin districts. The majority in the districts do not support such unproductive activities of any party. It is understood this bundh has been called in support of the farmers. Do they expect them also to stay off their fields at the onset of monsoon? BJP won because of increasing lawlessness and injustice during Sidhu’s tenure, especially because of the then government’s passive and partial stand against murders, thefts, tree cutting, land grabbing, sand mining, unlicensed slaughterhouses and so on.

It's proved now. You and the congress is disconnected from ground reality.

When you lost most of the sitting seats, you say people are with you and not with BJP.

The BJP voters are not for Bundh, whoever may give a call. Don't mistake the silence of voters as approval for your power hungry coalition.

2019, is nor far away and you have given another reason for voters to reject you and your opportunist friend HDK.
