Kasargod, May 28: After earth underneath suddenly collapsed and a pit was instantly formed inside quarters house located near Ayyappa Bhajana Mandir at Padippu Annanagar near Bandadka, a couple fell into the pit and suffered injuries. This incident happened on Sunday May 27.

Perhaps on account of heavy rain which soaked the region the previous night, loose earth below the said house apparently was washed away. A ten-feet deep pit was formed inside a room located adjacent to the kitchen of the house in which Priya and Krishna couple live.

Priya, who got up in the morning, went directly into the room, unaware of the fact that a pit had been formed there. She suddenly fell into the pit and was injured. Hearing her cries,Krishna also rushed there to her rescue, and he too fell into the pit and was injured. The locals, who heard their shouts for help, came there, brought them out of the pit, and admitted them into a hospital.
