Mangaluru, May 26: Policemen from Pandeshwar station here have arrested two persons on the allegation of posing murder threats to people through social websites. They reportedly had threatened people against roaming around in malls or having food during the holy month of Ramzan and warned of killing the violators if they overlooked this warning.

The arrested men happen to be Muhammed Sadiq (23) from Kuppepadavu and Abdul Sattar (35) from Kadeshivalaya. Case under sections 153A, 505 and 506 of Indian Penal Code has been slapped against them. Investigation is in progress now.

The accused had posted warning to women from Muslim community in the form of threat. A complaint about this was filed at Cyber police station here, based on which the accused were arrested.

After this death threat became viral, people in large numbers had expressed their resentment. Recently the police commissioner of the city commissionerate had warned those sending messages which have the potential of harming the social health and the admins of groups spreading such messages of strict action.
