Several injured after two men set off bomb in Indian restaurant in Ontario

Mississauga, May 25 (Reuters): Two unidentified men walked into a restaurant on Thursday in the Canadian city of Mississauga and set off a bomb, wounding more than a dozen people, and then fleeing, authorities said.

The blast went off in the Bombay Bhel restaurant at about 10:30 p.m. Fifteen people were taken to hospital, three of them with critical injuries, the Peel Regional Paramedic Service said in a Tweet.

The two male suspects went into the restaurant and detonated their improvised explosive device, Peel Regional Police said in a Tweet. The men then fled.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Police posted a photograph on Twitter showing two people with dark zip-up hoodies walking into an establishment with one of them appearing to be carrying an object.

The attack in Mississauga, Canada’s sixth largest city, comes a month after a driver plowed his white Ryder rental van into a lunch-hour crowd in Toronto, killing 10 people and injuring 15.

Mississauga is in Lake Ontario about 20 miles (32 km) west of Toronto.

Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj took stock of the situation and stated that the MEA was in constant touch with the Consul General in Toronto and Indian High Commissioner in Canada.

It is really shocking to hear about this attack. Bombay Bhel was the firs restaurant we visited after landing in Canada approx. 18 years earlier. This restaurant is run by Punjabi Sikhs and frequented by Indians as well as other communities too. We visit this restaurant at least twice a year because the quality of food remained unchanged over the last 2 decades Vs several other Indian restaurants which are amazing when they start. Once it becomes popular, quality suffers and prices shoot up. Typical Indian way of doing business

As of now, police have no clue on attackers but they are quick in analyzing the situation and acting accordingly. 3 are critically injured but now seems to be out of danger. Others are treated and sent home. Hopefully, the authorities will nab the culprits and bring them to justice.

Till date only new magazines & other institutions recognised Modi as a world leader & rated him top 1 to 5. Today I am very happy that even DW readers also agreed that he is the world leader & for this blast they are blaming him. this is indirectly they are accepting him as world leader.
