Puttur, May 25: Personnel of the town police station here arrested two young men on the allegation of consuming ganja. They were arrested on the night of Wednesday and produced in court here on Thursday May 24.
The arrested men happen to be Harish Kumar (19) from Marakkur in Narimogru village in the taluk and Shravan K (19) from Kargallu village. It is said that both of them were consuming ganja near the gram panchayat office at Purusharakatte.
The police who took them into custody, had got them medically examined at K S Hegde Hospital, Deralakatte, Mangaluru. The tests confirmed that they had consumed ganja. Thereafter, a case was registered and the accused were produced in court.
Town police station sub-inspector, Ajai Kumar and other personnel took part in the operation.
