Bengaluru: BJP MLAs choose Yeddyurappa as leader of opposition in assembly

Bengaluru, May 25: Former chief minister of Karnataka and state BJP president, B S Yeddyurappa, has been chosen to be the leader of the opposition in the state assembly.

This decision was taken at the meeting of BJP legislators held at a private hotel here under Yeddyurappa's leadership on Thursday May 24. At the assembly session being held on Friday, his name would be recommended to the said post.

At the same time, in all likelihood, Karkala MLA, Sunil Kumar, will be made chief whip of the opposition in the assembly once again. Whip has been issued to all the BJP MLAs, instructing them to vote against the trust vote when chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, moves the same in the assembly.

At the said meeting, the party pooled together opinions from the candidates about the reasons which in their opinion contributed to the inability of the party to muster majority in the assembly election. Yeddyurappa is said to have asked the party workers and leaders to put in more efforts for the party's victory in the next year's Lok Sabha election.

    While BJP’s CM candidate for Karnataka assembly elections BS Yeddyurappa has seen a 12% increase in his assets since the 2013 elections, his educational qualifications have taken a considerable dip.
    During 2013 state assembly elections in Karnataka, the 75-year-old BJP leader showed a BA (Bachelor of Arts) from Bangalore University as educational qualification. However in 2014, and again in 2018, Yeddyurappa—who has filed his nomination papers for the Shikaripura Assembly constituency—in his election affidavit says he has done a Pre-University Course (PUC) from Government College Mandya, Mysore University in the year 1960-61. This is also known as Plus-two, ie, 12th pass.
    College graduate in 2013, Yeddyurappa becomes Class 12 pass in 2018 .

    Qualification: B.Sc, (Agri.) 1975 from UAS, Bangalore
    M.Sc, (Agri) 1978 from UAS, Bangalore

    Section 125A of the Representation of People Act, the total punishment for filing a false affidavit at the time of filing nomination is six months, or fine or both and this is well short of the requirement of minimum of two years of sentence for attracting disqualification under Section 8A of the electoral act.

    1. Is BJP MLAs Yeddyurappa filed false affidavit in 2013?
    2. How does Election Commison of India does the verification of affidavit if there are so many discrepancies in filing?
    3. Does ECI does its job as per Peoples Representative Act?

    Yes they should take free food From Indira canteen as bjp is loosing in all states they

    And even corporate companies will not fund any more BJP

    As a BJP person Yeddy was elected leader of the opposition means, BJP the opposition has already accepted show of strength is passed.

    Moreover, BJP person filing nomination for the Speaker of Assembly position means the BJP's have already accepted defeat before hand prior to the floor test

    HOPE BJP M.L.A'S ALSO WILL VOTE TO THE COALITION GOVERNMENT OF KARNATAKA.

    At 75 it is high time Yeddy leads a retired life and hands over the reigns to young leaders like Ashok or else the BJP will be losing ground in Karnataka. In the interests of the BJP and Karnataka he should distance himself from the Corrupt and Tainted so that BJP remains a party with a difference or else people will reject them as next time around Yogi and his saffron atire will not help as people will look for Roti Kapada and Jojgar.
