Rahul Gandhi-led Congress seeks donation for 'restoring democracy'

New Delhi, May 25 (Zee News): The Congress party led by its president Rahul Gandhi is now seeking donations from the public for what it calls ''restoring democracy'' in the country.

The grand old party made an appeal for voluntary contribution on Twitter on Thursday.

''The Congress needs your support and help. Help us restore the democracy which India has proudly embraced since 70 years by making a small contribution here,'' it said in a tweet.

The party also shared a link using which those interested can fill all necessary details and make contributions to Congress from as little as Rs 250 to Rs 10,000.

The Congress party, which has been attacking the BJP for ''murdering the democracy'', has also decided to observe the 4th anniversary of the Narendra Modi government as "Vishwasghat Divas" on Saturday.

It wants to utilise the occasion to highlight the failure of pre-poll promises and the alleged missgovernance of BJP.

"The Congress would observe the 4th anniversary of Modi government as `Vishwasghat Divas` (betrayal day) all over the country to highlight the failure of pre-poll promises and miss-governance of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) led government," AICC member and Tripura Congress chief Birajit Sinha told the media.

Accompanied by other party leaders, Sinha said that the Prime Minister did not fulfil any of his pre-poll promises including providing jobs to the youths.

He said that the party, as part of the observance of `Vishwasghat Divas`, would hold protests, rallies and dharna in every district of the country on Saturday.

"After the BJP government came to power four years ago, people, in general, living in much distress and the masses especially the minority people are passing their days with a great fear and panic," Sinha said.

He said that in Tripura, without following the legal and democratic process, the BJP government in the state unilaterally bulldozed many party offices of the Congress and its frontal organisations in different parts of Tripura.

"Some of the party offices are 70 years old and have valid official documents. Even the West Tripura District Magistrate and Collector did not follow the local court orders against the demolitions," he said.

Officials said the district administrations since May 7 demolished some party offices of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and the Congress as these were built on government land.

The Congress leader said the BJP government unethically bulldozed some party offices without even prior notice.

Yes, true. Obviously they are running short of fund. BJP has stacked all the money during pre demonetization blunder.

The actual conspiracy behind demonetization was not to bring black money. But their motives was to make all non-BJP parties to suffer financially. They have executed successfully.

Now, what is running not the modi wave, in fact it’s ‘money’ wave.

    Everything has a time.

    Kumara,

You just ask confidentially, which BJP supporter paid how much towards the party funds. Local representatives come and demand contribution in the same manner that Modi told the nation that Hindu religion is facing threat. This is apart from what they have converted before demonetizaation and the top business barons donating in millions.

Then you ask why BJP needed that money. Tell me - those crores of Rupees Modi spent on self-publicity came from his tea-selling? Just think about it.

SEEKING DONATION FROM THE PUBLIC IS A REASON TO CONVERT BLACK MONEY INTO WHITE MONEY OTHERWISE WHAT IS SPECIAL IN IT . OR MAY BE DUE TO DEMONITISATION SUBSTANTIAL OLD CURRENCIES LYING IN HAND BEYOND LIMIT BEING LOST .

THAT IS WHY CONGRESS OBJECTED DEMONITISATION WITH ALL DESPARATION. NOW KARNATAKA STATE BEING LOST AND HANDED OVER TO KUMARASWAMY, CHANCES OF MINITING MONEY IS REMOTE. THAT IS WHY ALL THESE DRAMA.

    Mahi,

Do you think Pappu is an unemployed youth looking forward to fry Pakoda and sell for a living ?

He is MP and so is his mother. Please ask Modi how much percentage he raised MPs salary since he came to power. With that income if he can't afford one foreign trip every month, you tell me to help you in finding out price for airline ticket and hotel stay.

Abb, jaao aag kam kero - pakode jal-jaayenge !

Modi should come out publicly with what he found out about Gandhi family's fortunes hoarded abroad. If the family takes the party as its personal business it will gamble every penny at this situation. If they are seeking donations for continuing the party affairs, (1) either they have no fortune stored as Modi told people of India during his campaigns or (2) The news is negative publicity by BJP to retract people from keeping hopes with a bankrupt party. Obviously - Adani/Ambani are there to give money to BJP and in turn take Contracts of defense projects - you see ??

You must also inform the people about how BJP has transferred the fortune to people since past four years. Have you cheaper commodity ? Have your grown up youth found jobs as per their qualification ?

Please... don't tell me about Pakodas... its not since 2014 that Pakodas came into existence. I even wonder if Modi/Shah will own copyright for Pakodas !
