Bengaluru: Congress' Ramesh Kumar, BJP's Suresh Kumar file nominations for speaker post

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (DC)

Bengaluru, May 24: Senior Congress leader and former minister K R Ramesh Kumar on Thursday May 24 filed nomination for the post of the speaker of Legislative Assembly in Bengaluru.

Deputy CM G Parameshwara, former CM Siddaramaiah and other leaders accompanied Ramesh Kumar while submitting the nomination papers to Legislative Assembly chief secretary S Murthy.

Meanwhile, Suresh Kumar from the BJP too filed his nomination for the speaker's post.

The election for the speaker's post will be held on Friday May 25 at 12.30 pm. Ramesh Kumar from the Congress is likely to get elected since the JD(S)-Congress combine has the required number following post-poll alliance.

Six-time MLA K R Ramesh Kumar had served as the speaker during the H D Deve Gowda and the J H Patel governments in the state (1994-99).

The deputy speaker will be from the JD(S). K Srinivas Gowda and A T Ramaswamy of the JD(S) are in the race for the post.

In the elections held on May 12, voters gave a hung assembly in 222 constituencies, with 37 for the JD-S, including one from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), 78 for the Congress and 104 for the BJP, which fell eight less than the 112-halfway mark for a simple majority and passing the floor test. The floor test is expected to take place on Thursday after the election of the speaker.

JD(S) state chief H D Kumaraswamy took oath as the chief minister on May 23 at 4.30 pm. Dr G Parameshwara was sworn-in as the Karnataka’s first Dalit deputy chief minister.

Even Hitler was elected democratic way but what he suffered will apply to all those who use hatred n lies to appease majority by turning mountain out if molehill. Karmam phalam. No escape. Bakths can be blinded or fooled.
but god can't be fooled or mocked. As v sow, so v will all reap.
Also this is not Hitler era where the Jews were silent n Germans were restricted to Germany alone.
So don't burn your own graveyard. Like it happened to majority kauravaas who were defeated by minority pandaavas.
