Bengaluru: BJP to protest JD(S) and Congress forming government in Karnataka

Bengaluru, May 23 (IANS): Unfazed by the fall of its 3-day government last week in Karnataka, a defiant BJP's state unit will protest across the state on Wednesday against the formation of the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S)-Congress coalition government, said a party official on Tuesday.

"As the Congress-JD-S alliance hijacked the people's mandate and formed an unholy alliance to form a coalition government on Wednesday, we are observing the occasion as the 'anti-people's mandate day' across the state," said BJP's spokesman S Shantaram in a statement here.

State Governor Vajubhia Vala invited JD-S legislative party leader H D Kumaraswamy to take oath as the 25th Chief Minister on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. on the grand steps of the state secretariat (Vidhana Soudha) in the presence of national and regional leaders and about an estimated 1 lakh people.

Preparations for swearing-in

"Thousands of our party cadres and functionaries will stage a black flag demo at cities and districts to draw the people's attention to the opportunistic alliance of the duo to keep the BJP out of power," Shantaram noted.

Party's state unit President and its three-time Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will lead the demo at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in the city centre at 11.15 am. ahead of the oath-taking ceremony in the evening.

Party's state unit general secretaries Shobha Karandaleje, Arvind Limbavalli R. Ashok and N Ravi Kumar, Lok Sabha member from Bengaluru Central P C Mohan will be present on the occasion.

"We have also decided to boycott the swearing-in of Kumaraswamy and Congress state unit President G Parameshwara as Deputy Chief Minster as they don't have the mandate or moral ground to form the government," another party official told IANS here.

In the May 12 election, voters gave a hung assembly in 222 constituencies, with 37 for the JD-S, including one from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), 78 for the Congress and 104 for the BJP, which fell seven less than the 111-halfway mark for a simple majority and passing the floor test.

Instead of BJP doing petty politics in Karnataka they should PROTEST AGAINST daily increasing the PETROL-DIESEL price, which effects in price rise on daily commodities. This may fetch them more seats. Better not to dream in the present scenario. If they want to rule Karnataka, then they will be forced to leave Goa, Manipur, Nagaland, Bihar etc. They violated the Constitutional rules and it backfired them back in Karnataka.

Let's assume for a minute that Congress-JD(S) doesn't have a mandate/moral ground to form the Government. Did you(BJP) have? You(BJP) hastily took oath which in return displays hunger for Power. Can you(BJP) form a Government with 104 Seats when the rule says it should cross more than half? You(BJP) tried everything from Threat/Bribe/Cabinet seats/Kidnapping/ED etc and yet failed. On what basis are you lecturing on Morality? The Governor supported you(BJP), the Supreme Court supported you and gave you an opportunity for a Floor Test(just because you(BJP) speaking about having the numbers. From where would you(BJP) get the numbers? If there were 20 independents, one can understand, but when you(BJP) don't have any options, it shows you wanted more time just to extract MLAs from the opposition. You(BJP) speak about People's mandate, are you(BJP) not trying to go against people's mandate by Horse-Trading an elected MLA from an Opposition Party whom the people have unanimously voted? If you(BJP) had the audacity to Protest on clumsy reasons, why haven't you moved on with the Floor Test? That's because you(BJP) very well knew you(BJP) don't have the required number, and yet do not let the Majority Coalition Party to form the Government. You(BJP) keep speaking about People's mandate and that people have only voted for you(BJP), is 104 greater than 117?
Finally, the so called savior(BJP) and Pseudo Nationalists of our Country who time and again keep speaking about Patriotism, clearly does Contempt-of-Court by going against Supreme Courts Decision.

Protesting/Boycotting, not for the development, but for losing Power. If you(BJP) were so concerned about development, Protest against Fuel Hike which affects the Common Citizens.
It's funny and shows your(BJP) stupidity. Stop whining like a cry baby. Stand and face like a Man in Opposition and help Karnataka progress.

Good you(BJP) haven't been invited. If possible, stay away from Parliament too.

    Election Strategy in India
BJP: Though we don't have the majority numbers, BJP is the single largest party with 104 seats and should be allowed to form the government.
INC: Though BJP has 104 seat, but, they only have 13,185,384 votes. Where as Congress has 13,824,005 votes, so, CONGRESS should be allowed to form the Govt.
JDS: Since both other parties failed to form the Govt. and we are the King Makers. So, JDS must be allowed to form the govt.

    Traffic strategy in India
The one comes from the left side, should be allowed to pass first.
The one comes from the right side, should be allowed to pass first.
The one comes from the center, should be allowed to pass first.

BJP has no other option now!

From the 2 seats going to elections and that of Mr. Kumaraswamy vacating one MLA seat alongwith that of the Anglo Indian nomination too the Alliance will be sue of going beyond the 120 Mark. Whereby Horse Trading or communal politics will be costing BJP not only at State level but also the National level and of course in Goa, Manipur and others too
