Bengaluru: Kejriwal, Akhilesh Yadav, Mamata Banerjee among invitees to HDK's swearing-in

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, May 21: Unlike former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s hurried swearing-in ceremony, H D Kumaraswamy's oath taking ceremony on Wednesday May 24 in Bengaluru will be a show of strength, with a galaxy of top politicians and leaders slated to attend.

Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are among the top Congress leaders who are expected to attend the oath-taking ceremony.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati, who had tied up with Kumaraswamy's JD(S) prior to Karnataka elections will also be present. Chief minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, Andhra Pradesh chief minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao are also expected to attend the swearing-in.

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, DMK working president M K Stalin are also among the invitees.

"I will be taking oath at the Kanteerava stadium. At least three to four lac people will be assembling. Cadres of both JD(S) and Congress have agreed to the coalition and there is no dissent," Kumaraswamy told the media.

On Monday May 21, Kumaraswamy met Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, as well as Mayawati in New Delhi and invited them to the swearing-in cerremony.

According to analysts, Kumaraswamy’s swearing-in ceremony will lay the foundation for the anti-BJP forces to unite ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

It seems that the Karnataka election has paved way for regional parties coming together to form a united front to counter the BJP threat.

"Whereever we feel that the BJP is attacking democracy... you will find the Congress. This means that all of us, the opposition together, in a coordinated manner, will defeat the BJP," Rahul Gandhi had told the media.

better to have simple swearing in ceremony and save money to farmers loan waiver.
Cut down costs as no need of coming down any big leaders as it is on tax payers money that they lavish unless they attend with their own or party accumulated money.

You are suffering from chronic amnesia. Go back to 2008 when Yeddyurappa took control of Karnataka, the attacks mainly against the Christians and the Muslims. Yeddyurappa is No 1 communal but the 2nd CM Sadananda Gowda was not communal.

Hi folks. Karnataka is not Hindu vs Muslims or Secular vs fanatics. Its power grabbing of two rich and educated dominant comment;y Lingayath and Vokkaligas who forms population of state 17% and 13% respectively.

Its true that Yeddi is not communal. after all he wants his community to have power and he is under the lap of RSS. Rest of communities (Dalits 18%, Tribals 7% , Muslims 13% , Kurubas 8%, christians 2% , Edigas and other BC's 22%) follow like a sheep under Congress or BJP or JDS.

While lingayaths & Vokkaligas community in general bear the fruits of state power all other communities Leaders are well off and their people stay as poor as they

Ridiculous. Everyone Accepted defeat against Modi. It shows at Present situation no party has the guts to stand alone against BJP to win elections. Looks like even after 2019 For sure break up wont happen among them or their relation stick may be forever. Congress mukht Bharat started by Modi, completed by all these pickle parties.

    Dear Prakash,
Pickle parties add spice but congress itself is fish out of water, its presence is limited to few states where direct fight with BJP. Rest all states congress is holding to tail end of local parties and RaGa is behaving like gabbar but too late to recover from shock going to hit Cong. Cong mukth abhiyan started by modi and well supported by congress itself which is now pushed to 3rd and 4th places .in
    Most of the states.

There is one major benefit to secularists from INC's poor form is that REGIONAL SECULAR PARTIES, who split from INC, have now forged strong alliance! Day by day, their unity is growing!
It's good for the nation. Otherwise absolute power to BJP will corrupt them and the nation absolutely.
