Kundapur: Speeding car hits bike at Maravanthe, rider dies on spot

Kundapur, May 21: In a tragic accident that occurred on the evening of Sunday, May 20, a bike rider was killed when his bike collided with a car at Maravanthe near Gangolli.

The deceased is identified as Puneeth Poojary (25), son of Muttaiah Poojary, a resident of Thaggarse near Byndoor.

 

Puneeth and his friend Rajesh were travelling to their home at Byndoor from Kundapur. When they reached Thaggarse, a car that was being driven at a very high speed in the opposite direction, collided with their bike. Due to the impact of the accident, the bike caught fire and got completely charred. The bike rider died on the spot.

The front portion of the car has also been badly damaged. Pillion rider Rajesh is being treated in a private hospital in Kundapur.

It is learnt that Puneeth, the deceased, had bought a new bike on Saturday, May 19.

A case stands registered in this regard at Gangolli police station.

MLA of Byndoor Sukumar Shetty and Deepak Kumar Shetty visited the spot and consoled the family members of the deceased person.

    can't say whose is the fault. it's clearly mentioned that car was driven rashly... and hit the bike.. but now a days it's not wrong to say or assume two wheelerists also drive very recklessly. they think heave lies on their feet.... one person is died and now you need to suffer for life time thinking on this... a sad incident... any ways RIP.
