Mangaluru: Yeddy's resignation - DK Congress rejoices, Lobo says BJP made 'mockery of democracy'

Mangaluru, May 19: District Congress celebrated 'Vijayotsava' at Congress office here on Saturday, May 19, after B S Yeddyurappa resigned just before the trust vote in the assembly, paving the way for JD(S)-Congress alliance to stake claim to form the government.

Addressing the gathering, former MLA J R Lobo said, "It was not possible for BJP to prove its majority in the floor test. Yeddyurappa was sworn in as chief minister and could hold his position only for 55 hours. For the first time in Karnataka history, the CM resigned before the trust vote.

"After becoming the chief minister and knowing he would fail the trust vote, Yeddyurappa resigned and walked out from the assembly as he lacked courage. BJP knew that they had did not have enough seats but were greedy to be in power. Despite knowing JD(S)-Congress had the majority, they were adamant to form the government. Even the governor failed while taking decision and invited BJP first," he said.

"BJP thought they could lure MLAs of other parties to form the government and made desperate poaching attempts and offered bribes. BJP does not have the moral right to form the government. BJP is known to talk big but they fail to practice in reality. They have misled the young minds in the name of forming government. BJP has done mockery of democracy, insulted the voters. Voters did a mistake by electing BJP. I urge voters not to support such party and leaders who make mockery of democracy. They should not be allowed to be in power and should be pushed out not only from the state but also from the country. On Monday, Congress and JD(S) will form the government and take the state towards development. Both the parties are experienced in managing the administration," Lobo said.

Congress leaders Sadashiva Ullal, Nazeer Bajal, Arif Bunder, Neeraj Chandra Pal, Asha D'Silva and others were present.

    Dear All

Here at least 35% is CM while in Manipur the BJP had 5% and also formed a goverment. So is there two laws for forming alliance goverments. 1. Where BJP wants to form goverment, then they can form even if they have the lowest number in the assembly or if they have highest and no majority they should be called..
    2. For non BJP parties there is a rule that you cannot form goverment even if your alliance is higher then the required majority and can easily form a stable goverment.

So why you are non accepting a goverment that is formed as per your formulas in 4 states Meghalaya, Manipur, Goa and Bihar.

Just dont be an Ostrich and become blind to teh world by digging your head in the sand. People are not fools and have not given BJP a mandate to rule, but they showed the corruption formula to the maximum to buy MLA's which was supported by the governor but disposed by the Judiaciary.
Where does BJP get so much money for paying crores, maybe all the money taken by Malya, Nirav and other scamsters comes back. Or the big corporates pay to reap in huge rewards like the Reliance defense deals where they get a huge defense order when the company is 6 months old

Just Open your eyes all Bhakts and citizens of India. If congress is corrupt, BJP are above them as theifs. They donot want welfare of common man but just power.
This was ably poved by Yeddyruppa under the leadership of Amit Shah and PM Modi.

But Gujjus tried to use him for their advantage. They would have made him a puppet under them. At least he is saved and he saved Karnataka. These use the issue of Hindutva to misguide people, defame the religion to gain power for themselves. We must learn and educate those who are ignorant. Jai Karnataka.

In this Karnataka assembly elections BJP has turned the traditional contractual relationship on its head. There is no contract between the leadership and the party workers. In its place is a motive, a collective vision – to build a mythical Hindu Rashtra of sorts.
Since no time frame has been set to realise this vision, the chances of the workers becoming disappointed are very slim.
To top it all, there are scores of people associated with nearly 60,000 sakhas of the RSS working towards the common goal – complementing and supplementing the work of the BJP rank and file. It doesn’t matter whether the BJP delivers on the promises it has made; it’s about winning every election in order to move closer to fulfilling the dream.
Take a look at the magic of this new machinery. In 2014, the BJP won 282 seats in the Lok Sabha, securing 31 percent of the votes – an unprecedented vote share to seats conversion ratio that set a record in India’s electoral history.
Whether you're a part of this machinery, or whether you're watching it from a distance, you can’t deny the surprising efficiency of this machinery.
The voting pattern of majority community in the entire coastal belt, Malandu, Hyderabad Karnataka shows that voters of this region prefered 'Hindutva' first and 'Development' least preference.

If we have recurrence of communal violence, moral police, cow vigilantes in these districts, there is no regret in the future because majority of the voters of this region prefered communal vs peace.

Mr. Lobo's loss is one of the greatest despite his candidature, good character, clean image and inclusiveness. I request him to connect to the people and serve better so that those who rejected him will bring him back.
But one thing Congress must note from this election is RSS 'Silent Campaign' is very much successive in dividing the people.

    Jai Hind
