JD(S)-Congress alliance invited to form govt, HDK to take oath as CM on May 21

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, May 19: JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy on Saturday May 19 said that Karnataka governor Vajubhai Vala has invited him to form a government in the state, following the resignation of B S Yeddyurappa-led BJP regime ahead of its trust vote.

"The swearing-in ceremony will take place on Monday," Kumaraswamy told media after meeting Vala and staking claim.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at Kanteerava stadium in Bengaluru between 12 noon and 4 pm, he said.

AICC president Rahul Gandhi and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi are expected to attend the ceremony.

"BJP failed to show its strength on the floor of the house. I am not afraid even though central government misuses its agencies to throttle opposition," Kumaraswamy said.

The Governor's invitation came hours after Yeddyurappa resigned before the trust vote, as his party with 104 seats fell short of a simple majority in the hung assembly.

The JD(S) won 37 seats in the May 12 election, the Congress 78 while the Bahujan Samaj Party, the Karnataka Pragnyavantha Janatha Party and an Independent won one each.

Election to Raja Rajeshwari Nagar (RR Nagar) in Bengaluru southwest was postponed to May 28 due to electoral malpractice and in Jayanagar in Bengaluru south to June 11 after it was countermanded following the death of BJP contestant B.N. Vijaya Kumar on May 4.

As Kumaraswamy won from Ramanagaram and Channapatna assembly segments, the JD(S) strength in the assembly is effectively 36. It also has the support of the BSP as its pre-poll ally and claimed to have the support of the KPJP and the Independent.

The JD(S) leader is likely to retain Ramanagaram from where he won for the third consecutive time and give up Channapatna, which will lead to a bye-election soon.

The JD(S)-Congress alliance has 117 members in the hung House with the support of three others, thus totalling half a dozen over the required halfway mark.

This is the second time Kumaraswamy, the third son of JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda will be the Chief Minister, and 12 years after the JD(S) formed a coalition government with the BJP on February 4, 2006 and he occupied the office for 20 months till October 9, 2007.

Terming the turn of events on a dramatic day of developments as a victory of democracy, Kumaraswamy said the JD(S) and the Congress leaders would discuss the modalities of forming their coalition government on Sunday.

Thanking Congress President Rahul Gandhi, his mother Sonia Gandhi and the party's other leaders at the central and state level, Kumaraswamy said he had invited them and BSP supreme Mayawati to his oath-taking ceremony on Monday.

"I have also invited Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to attend the swearing-in ceremony of our coalition government," he added.

Very happy for parties adopting secularism (Sarva dharma sama bhavate ) principle adopted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar,
Whom people have given mandate in the state, got highest voting share, individually as well as collectively are forming Govt!
    Really peoples Govt.
Money Muscle power to prevent forming of peoples Govt didn't work!
Got justice for deprivation of justice in Goa, Manipur and Meghalaya! Secular parties are coming together! Great going!

In a democracy it’s all numbers game, that too right numbers at right time, by hook or by crook get the numbers that’s it. Look at this father and son,s luck without any hard efforts with just 34 MPs HD Deve Gowda became Prime Minister, now with just 37 MLAs his Son Kumaraswamy is going to become Chief Minister without any efforts like his father. Whether you call it luck or election timing or God’s Blessing, this father son duo has political luck which no other Indian Politician has it. Likes of LK Advani, MulayamSingh and many more Indian politicians of current and past with more Nbr of MPs /MLA’s could not even become Cabinet minister let alone PM. See their luck

Congress need a leadership change at center. They may chose Priyanka as a presidential candidate for Congress and try thier luck. Rahul has not shown any result and doubt he may show any good tuff stuff. Indian politics required lots of cunningNess like chaiwala and pokadawala to win. Honesty has no place to win. Look at chaiwala bluff the world and run his govt but some point in time will collapse like a wall which is too late for poor people to realize his banya style.

As the Lok Sabha election is just one year away BJP will not like to keep this alliance forever. It will try all is muscle and administrative powers to weaken the candidates who don't obliged to the BJP demands getting majority numbers.

The BJP will open old cases just like they did for BSP leader Mayawati after she announced alliance. They also use investigative agencies to target specific candidates whose credential are weak and easy to force.

If JD(S)-Congress has to survive the coalition then Bellary Republic need to be controlled whom they have surplus money for every dirty deals. It also purse the case of 'Namo' Naresh with which will review both party in the coastal as well as malandu.

For BJP getting eight numbers not a big deal. But coalition to survive the need to poach from BJP camp who are not satisfied with the party.

Congress should also realise that it is no more strong national party. They should tactically support regional parties in the future.

Which mandate you are talking about, is it EVM mandate ? Its not peoples mandate. If peoples mandate is counted, the result would have been reversed. It would have 1 BJP and rest all Congress. Your party played all the dirty tricks to win by removing names from voters list specially Christians and Muslims.

I am not making story. My 2 family members names were removed from the list. When asked two weeks ago to the concerned authorities, they said you bring the voter ID on the voting day and you can caste your vote. And when they went, they were not allowed. After complaining also, they didn't allowed. How many such cases have been reported, but EC just brushed aside all these issues.

Then how can honest candidates like Pramod, Lobo, Sorake can win. But God is there, he will see everything what your BJP is doing. And he punished by not giving the majority numbers to form the Government in whose blood lies, corruption is flowing. All you bhakths, wait and watch how your BJP is going to dust in the forthcoming 2019 elections.
