Mangaluru: Malani’s 'Sridevi Lives Forever' at Cannes Film Festival

Mangaluru, May 17: Legendary actress Sridevi was felicitated posthumously at the 71st Cannes Film Festival in France. She was honored with the prestigious Titan Reginald F Lewis Award at the special event to be presided at Le Majestic Beachside on May 16. And the proudest and the highest honorable moment for Mangalurean filmmaker Sandeep Malani is that the organisers from Cannes have asked him to make a musical documentary as a tribute to her. And Malani has done one titled ‘Sridevi Lives Forever’ (Duration 5 mins and 55 seconds) that showcases Sridevi’s career through few pictures and video songs mashup and a voice over by him to celebrate her wonderful career of 50 years and 300 films from childhood to ‘Mom’hood - South to Hindi films.

This presentation will be shown to the audience comprising of filmmaker’s and celebrities from across the world; before the honor is been given to her; to be accepted by Sonam Kapoor, who is at Cannes with her husband to also promote her forthcoming film, Veere Di Wedding.

Malani who has earlier made a musical documentary four years ago on Sridevi’s 50th Birthday titled ‘Roop Ki Rani Sridevi’ – was a lengthy 3 hours one, which he gifted to her and then on request of Boney Kapoor, he did a Tamil one titled ‘Senthoora Poove’ and a Telugu one titled ‘Athiloka Sundari’, these had mash up songs of her entire career in respective languages.

Malani does a Sridevi Quiz every week titled Sridevi Baaz, and selects a winner.
