Mangaluru: Trouble erupts at Adyar Padavu after stones pelted at BJP victory rally

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SB)

Mangaluru, May 15: Trouble erupted at Adyar Padavu here late evening on Tuesday May 15 after stones were pelted at a BJP victory procession.

The BJP which won in seven out of eight assembly seats in Dakshina Kannada had organised a victory procession late evening on Tuesday, as the EC had given strict orders not to hold such celebrations during daytime on counting day.

As the procession was passing through Adyar Padavu, unidentified people reportedly belonging to a community started pelting stones on the BJP workers and supporters, it is said.

However, locals alleged that those in the rally threw stones at a local mosque first, and then the people there retaliated.

Police sources said that stones were pelted by both sides at each other.

A man identified as Ashok was allegedly beaten by the same persons who pelted stones at the procession.

Stones were also pelted at the Shree Ramanjaneya Vyayama Shale, damaging its name board and window panes. A bike was also damaged, sources said.

Mangaluru rural police arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control.

Ashok has been admitted to a private hospital.

If any community openly declares and support any Political party, specially the Minority community, shall fall prey to the Karyakartha's of winning Political Party. For every action there is equal and opposite reaction. Hence let us not bring Politics in our daily life, specially Religious Priest or Matadhipathi's or Mulla's should desist from airing their support to particular Political Party.

Community leaders should think of taking their young generation into a way of better prospect rather than picking up violence.

First of all until late in the evening it was clear that BJP did not get majority in the house. Where was the question for victory rally in the first place?
If the stones were thrown at the Mosque first, did the concerned file an FIR? Throwing stones right back with tit for tat is correct? Why was the Vyayama shala targeted?
When BJP lost last time, and there was victory rally by the non-BJP party, did they celebrate by throwing stones at Temples to warrant stone pelting on Mosque. What kind of a sadist attitude is this?
Victory celebration by destruction of property.

Dear Francis, your statement is not correct. None can believe the stone was thrown on peaceful march by sangh parivar goondas. We know clearly that these anti social elements had planned the disturbance and started pelting stones on religius place and shops blaming that someone pelted stone on them.

This is absoluted wrong. If the march was peaceful why were they carrying stones in bags and lathis in hand. this is not the way of peaceful marchers. they took out the procession with intentin to disrupt peace and damage property of particular community. Police should not allow such marches and if at all permitted, police should have close watch on it. BJP has won the election by crook and cheating.

We all know how the chaddis behave when they win. Yesterday even though there was a prohibition to take out processions like, chaddis were on motorcycles , no helmets, triple ride blocking the stretch from PVS circle to MG road. Even the cops were mute spectators. I'm not supporting the stone pelting by either of them. There is always a reaction to what you do. Enough is enough. People will not keep quiet. I worry for the future of DK. HDK should take the CM seat. Things will be back in place. Too much of hate, case politics.
