BJP should hold elections with ballot papers: Uddhav Thackeray

Mumbai, May 15 (PTI): Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday challenged the BJP to hold elections through ballot papers to clear doubts over the use of electronic voting machines (EVMs).

As votes for the Karnataka elections were counted and the BJP seemed set to emerge the single largest party, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray agreed with Uddhav Thackeray.

"This is a victory for the Electronic Voting Machine," he tweeted.

Uddhav Thackeray pointed out that the BJP was losing bypolls but winning assembly elections.

"If you (BJP) trust yourself, hold elections through ballot papers once," Uddhav Thackeray said, reacting to the Karnataka election results.

"When so many people are asking for it, it will clear apprehensions (on the use of EVMs) once and for all," Uddhav Thackeray told reporters.

Elections come and go, he added when asked about the Karnataka elections being the first major poll battle after Rahul Gandhi became Congress president.

"Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. One should keep working," he said.

The Sena leader congratulated the BJP for its success in Karnataka polls and hoped that people of that state would now witness 'acchhe din'.

Former Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan said the Congress and the Janata Dal (S) could together form the next government in Karnataka.

"If statesmanship is shown, this can happen as we together have a majority in the Karnataka Assembly," the Congress leader told the media.

I appeal to all Political parties like the Congress, SP, BSP, Trinamool, AAP, TDP NCP, Shiv Sena, MNS etc to offer a Very High Award to any one who will tell the truth about tampering of the EVM machines in all the elections held since the last general elections in 2014.

This is the only way to unravel this mystery.

Respected Uddhav Thackeray Sir. Just offer a Big Award to the informer and we will be able to solve this mystery and the murder of Democracy.

If the PM is in the know then it will be the saddest day for our democracy in India.

    1. Doubts arising due to unexpected results. 2. Margin between winning and loosing
Candidates are very high. 3. Honest and hard working candidates like J R Lobo in Mangalore South and Vinya Kumar Sorake in Kapu, are lost unbelievable. 4. As a real fact in electronic goods in most cases, if it kept away after using little while, It will malfunction or completely collapse. Our EVM are same thing which is kept away from operation and bring back for next election.

I fully endorse any leader, who advise, that the election should hold on ballot papers.

if advanced countries like USA, Germany and all EU block are holding election on ballot paper, then why in India, we are holding it on EVM and most of the opposition parties have raised the authenticity of the EVM machine. Any solution which gives doubt about the authenticity should not continue.

I am with Udav Thackeray's view : elections should be held with ballot papers.

Shiv Sena chief Mr.Uddhav Thackeray if not comfortable with BJP it should first end unholy alliance with BJP in Maharashtra. BJP is enjoying 145 seats needed for a majority with coalition of Shiv Sena but have 122 members and getting support of 63 from alliance.

Instead of waiting for 2019 Shiv Sena should prove its regional power which is already dismissed due to BJP alliance.

It should be noted that BJP formed the government through voice of vote. To date no one knew how the speaker has counted the voices.
