Madikeri: Sadananda Gowda's son Karthik involved in scuffle with tourists

Daijiworld Media Network - Madikeri (SP)

Madikeri, May 15: There was a fight between some tourists at the scenic Mandalapatti tourist spot in Kodagu district between some tourists and union minister, D V Sadananda Gowda's son, Karthik Gowda, who had hit headlines even in the past.

On Sunday May 3, Karthik Gowda had arrived at Mandalapatti near Madikeri along with wife, mother, and some friends. He had parked his vehicle across the road, blocking traffic. Some tourists who were passing by the road in rented jeeps asked Karthik to move his vehicle aside. There was exchange of words between Gowda and tourists on this occasion and the fight was about to turn physical and the people were pulled and shoved when some others intervened and stopped the quarrel. Reportedly, a gold chain worn by Karthik in his neck snapped during this scuffle.

Kodagu district superintendent of police, Rajendra Prasad, deputy superintendent of police, Sundar Raj, and others rushed to the spot and inquired about the incident. Local BJP leaders too got involved with the task of settling the issue through mediation.

As the road to Mandalapatti is in despicable state, the tourists usually travel by rented jeeps from Abbi Falls Road. Alternatively, they can walk by foot for five km. District superintendent of police, Rajendra Kumar, in the light of the incident involving Karthik Gowda, has banned plying of rented vehicles which do not have permission be run on hire, on this route. Therefore, only vehicles registered for hire are now being allowed by the police. This caught tourists unawares on Monday and caused lot of problems for them.

Mandalpatti is a very beautiful scenic spot in Madikeri, but the road leading to it, specially the last 5 KMs is in the worst condition. No vehicle can go there except the rented jeeps which are driven by a group of drivers, charging hefty rent. These jeep operators regularly fleece the tourists and they have a cartel. I wonder why the government is not making a pucca road to this spot, probably due to the pressure from these jeep operators, which otherwise, would rob their livelihood. If you have not yet visited this picturesque spot yet, please do in your next visit, but don't fight with these jeep operators !

This is the audacity of a son whose father is a BJP minister in the central goverment. No value for publice and road traffic rules. Even now see that the person who parked wrong and caused a fight is free and teh rented jeeps making a livelyhood is banned. This is and will happen from not only the leaders of BJP but even their family members will now be acting such

As the incident happened there i was in the spot.....karthik gowda visited mandalpati with his family and cousins....the fight caused not because of car parked across road....there was lot of space to cross vehicle....those rented jeeps are the problem...they started the issue because karthik gowda and family had come with their own vehicles...and the rented jeep people dont like people coming to mandalpatti with their own vehicles....so they started the issue with the vehicle and started to abuse karthik and his family member's (even kids were there)....hope officials looks into it..!

Same like Mohammad Akhlaq's murder case. Not worried about murder and they were busy in finding out what was in his fridge.

    Mr. Lancer
Nothing can change these politicians positions. We can only write comments which will not change anything. As you can clearly see what happened to Nalappad's Father Mr. N A Haris? he got reelected by the same shanthi nagar constituency people though they all know the fact of Goondaism of his son
