Mangaluru: Ticket denial to Krishna Palemar - Kshatriya Okkoota warns BJP of boycott

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru Apr 26: Karnataka State Kshatriya Okkoota Mangaluru zone has registered displeasure at BJP for denying ticket to former minister Krishna J Palemar from Mangaluru North constituency.

Addressing media here on Thursday April 26, president Mangaluru zone of Karnataka State Kshatriya Okkoota, Krishnanda Rao, said, “Krishna J Palemar is a very prominent leader of the backward community of Kshatriya people. He is a trustworthy worker of BJP who has worked with people of all walks of life. During his tenure as the in-charge minister of Dakshina Kannada, there was not a single incident of communal violence. He worked towards the all-round development of this area. He played a key role in the historic win of BJP by winning 39 seats in MCC. His donations towards the building the party office and other community halls are noteworthy.

"For such a leader, BJP has denied ticket from Mangaluru North constituency. This is shocking for us. It is not only an insult but also a case of cheating by the party,” he added.

"Krishna J Palemar was assured of ticket by the higher authorities of BJP. He was advised to prepare himself for the election by campaigning and was asked to submit his identity proof for the issue of B-form. But without even informing him, a new candidate was given B form. This is injustice to our community and a grave mistake of BJP,” he informed.

"Our Okkoota had a meeting with a large number of people and it was resolved to boycott the election till we get assurance of fair justice for Krishna J Palemar. Otherwise our community should not be held responsible for any future course of action and election results," said Krishnanda Rao.

Okkoota members Yogesh, Kalpana and others were present.

Look at this "....Krishnanda Rao, said, “Krishna J Palemar is a very prominent leader of the backward community of Kshatriya people..."! This is a perfect example of absurdity. Kshatriyas are savarniyas and not backward. According to the chaturvarna system, they are actually higher in stature than Brahmins as they are the rulers and Brahmins receive gifts from them for performing service like pooja, etc.
So the my suggestion for this community leaders is either call yourself backward or a Kshatriya as you can not be both.

BJP is a party with discipline. Whatever party decides it is final. People should not revolt against the party when the KP's image has been tainted because of watching film in the Vidhanasoudha. One should not mis use or abuse his power once he gets his chair. Vulchers are waiting to pull you down.
When there are many good and competitive candidates are trying to get a seat, then there should be lottery system to choose the candidate. This will not make a person unhappy and revolt against party. Secondly,A candidate has to with high margin, then only he should be given seat in the next election. Who ever joins the party from other party should work for 5 years

Krishna Palemar belongs to a numerically insignificant caste called kotekar or ramakshatriya. They were footsoldiers of Keladi Nayaka Kings and are OBC. The Kshatriya in their name is a misnomer and should not be confused with North Indian Rajput Kshatriya who are landlords and rulers. Most land in Canara before land reforms was held by Bunts and their sister caste the Jain Bunts. All ruling royal clans of coastal karnataka like Chowta, Ajila, Banga Arasa were followers of Jainism.

Congratulations Mr. Shetty. You studied your History or listen to your Grand father, Before the Congress introduced Land reform Act in the seventies Kotekar, Billava's, Catholics and other Land less farmers were sub servants of Bunts & Bunt Jains. All Land was owned by Bunts & Bunt Jains others were treated worst then slaves, untouchability made Kotekar, Billava's, Catholics and other Land less farmers un human. Taking away property from Bunts & Jains and providing reservation in Government Jobs made Kotekar, Billava's, Catholics and other Land less farmers humans. Real history of the atrocities of Bunts & Jains towards are hidden and not told to Kotekar, Billava's, Catholics and other Land less farmers.

Let us have no doubt over the fact that palemar was a good leader. But it doesn't entitle him the ticket. He won as a member of bjp and today bjp leadership under modiji and amithshah has chosen Dr Bharat shetty over palemar. Surathkal is nobody's ancestral property for them to claim stake. A young dynamic leader was chosen to do a particular job of developing that area and of contributing to the development of India. If palemar is half the man you all claim to be , he would have graciously accepted the leadership's decision and supported Dr Bharat shetty. Also, for certain elements claiming to the voice of Hindus , infamous for running a roll call racket in tht area and have earned enough money to last their lifetimes, it is time for them to look in the mirror and accept that today they are the reason Hindus are being split for votes and power . The exact same accusation they hurled on Congress for years. Like it or not Dr Bharat shetty is the chosen one, has years of experience within RSS and will win this elections hands down, despite all attempts of blackmail from the so called men of honor. The youth is with you Dr Bharat , and we will stand by you.

With candidates declaring their worth and comparing from election to election, clearly their net worth suddenly rises and politics and power is a lucrative business.
A primary similar to that conducted in US may be considered so that worthiest may be elevated as party candidate rather than pure influence.
National parties have resorted to secular methods of fielding candidates from majority community. Looking at Congress candidates from Mangalore, does it mean that Hindus now are a minority in Mangalore?

I am Billava BJP supporter you can see my previous comments over daiji favoring BJP all the time whenever I can . But Now one can easily make out that... in the name of HINDUTVA BJP is only giving Tickets only to one particular caste ( Upper caste) and ignoring backward community like BILLAVA which is havingMajority in 90% of constituencies in DK and UDUPI district. If BJP is really meant to HINDUDTVA irrespective of any caste then WHY CAN'T BJP distribute tickets among all the caste equally? instead of focusing on only one cast? i guess it is the first time in history one particular cast got 4 MLA tickets fromone district i .e DK. People are smart now..will use their mind before casting vote..that is for sure.

U need to understand one thing, BJP doesn't follow caste based politics. So when BJP considers all castes are equal, there will be no question of distributing tickets among all castes equally. Because I repeat " All castes are equal". Isn't it true that, When your favourite Candidate didn't get seat you people started dividing among castes ??
