Chicago: Austin Prabhu to receive Community Service Award from Illinois State

Chicago, Apr 26: Dr Austin D’Souza Prabhu, prominent Mangalurean living in USA, will receive prestigious Community Service Award from Illinois State in May.

Jesse White, Illinois Secretary of State, in a communication has said that Austin Prabhu will receive the Community Service Award at 2018 Secretary of State's Celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

“This is a time when we pay tribute to the ambitious ventures, personal triumphs and accomplishments of Asian-Americans in Illinois. We would like to recognize your contributions and celebrate your success,” says the letter from Jesse White.

The event will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at the James R. Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph St.

The letter thanks Austin for his time and dedication to the state of Illinois.

Austin is an author, dramatist, community leader, Lions Club member and office-bearer for decades, philanthropist and a journalist. Now in retirement, he runs an e-magazine in Konkani titled ‘Veez’.
