Bantwal, Apr 24: A candidate representing Mahila Empowerment Party (MEP) and accused in a certain case filed his nomination from jail here on Tuesday April 24.

Candidate Shameer alias Chammi Shantiyangadi filed nomination at the Mini Vidhana Soudha through his representative Ideal Jabbar.

Shameer was arrested by Pandeshwar police after he escaped from hospital. Shameer was undergoing treatment after he was injured in a toll gate attack in Brahmarakutlu in 2014. He managed to escape from the hospital after attacking the police personnel who were guarding him. A case was registered against him at the Pandeshwar police station and a warrant was also issued.

He had been given the ticket to contest as MEP candidate in the assembly polls and was preparing to file his nomination on Tuesday. However, he was arrested on Monday and was sent to judicial custody.

Mahila Empowerment Party (MEP) is the dummy party of BJP to break the Muslims votes in particular were the margin of winning votes is consider marginal.

    Criminal Offences
In the year 2014, Hyderabad police caught 2 employees of Heera Gold red-handed with 84 lakh rupees cash claiming that they were members of money laundering racket. A senior police officer of DCP rank claimed that Nowhera Shaik was operating her illegal money laundering business from Dubai.[7]

In 2012, a Member of Parliament and president of AIMIM party Mr. Asaddudin Owaisi has filed a police complaint against Heera Gold for cheating investors.

In 2014, Heera Group was under Enforcement Directorate watch facing allegations of hawala transactions.

In 2016, Shaik Nowhera has approached the Golconda police alleging that her husband Mohammed Sanaullah Qureshi aka Salman had taken 10 kg of gold from her and had fled with it.

In October 2017, Enforcement Directorate sleuths conducted a survey of Heera Gold Group at Hyderabad office and found 60 crore worth tax issues after which the firm offered to pay the amount.

Last years ED raids on her company forced to go secret dealing with BJP agreed to form a party to contest in Karnataka for all the seats to primarily to break the minority Muslims votes.

The strategy of the BJP is very much similar to Maharashtra and Bihar were Asaduddin Owaisi party which helped BJP to win the state assembly elections.
