Mangaluru, Apr 21: Chairman of Alva's Educational Institutions Mohan Alva released 'Raja Nota', a book penned by senior journalist P B Harish Rai, here at press club on Friday April 20. ‘Raja Nota’ is a compilation of election history of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district from 1952 to 2014.

Addressing the gathering, president of SCDCC Bank Rajendra Kumar said, "This is a very special book penned by journalist P B Harish Rai which has election history from 1952 to 2014 of the twin district. Harish Rai has strived hard to write the book. He has done this with lot of groundwork collecting details of MLAs and ministers in the last 60 years who worked for the growth of the district. This book will definitely be the source of information for not only the politicians, but others too.”

Chairman of Alva's Educational Institutions, Mohan Alva said, "P B Harish Rai has served myriad media houses for the last 26 years. His experience has come to play with this book which contains election history of last 60 years. There might be several books written based upon politics, but there will be no book with detailed information and history about elections of last 60 years. This book can be taken as a reference book for everyone.”

Journalist and writer P B Harish Rai said, "This is a dream come true for me. As politics is an interesting field, I took an initiative to write the book which carries the history of elections from 1952 to 2014. Usually, we do not remember the MLAs, MLCs or the ministers who served in 1952 or so, but this carries all the information of those years. This also carries a small briefing on the ministers from the last 60 years in the district along with the records of elections and votes gained by candidates in their respective constituencies in the last 60 years. It was really hard to contact the families of the ministers of those years and collecting credible information about their background. Today indeed, it is a dream come true to get this book released.”

Journalist P B Harish Rai welcomed the gathering, Srinivas Nayak rendered the vote of thanks and Ravindra compered the programme.

President of Patrika Bhavan Trust Anand Shetty, Kallur Nagesh and others were present.
