M’luru: Vijayakumar Shetty revolts against Cong for giving ticket to Mohiuddin Bava

Mangaluru, Apr 19: The dissent within Congress is escalating day by day with several party aspirants having openly expressed displeasure over selection of candidates for the upcoming assembly polls and deciding to switch parties.

In Mangaluru, another Congress leader and former MLA Vijayakumar Shetty has revolted against the party for issuing ticket to Mohiuddin Bava from Mangaluru North constituency.

Shetty who is upset with the party's decision said, "They had promised me an MLC ticket. They also promised me to appoint as the district president. But none of the promises have been fulfilled. Now they have denied me MLA ticket too. I am hurt by the party's decision to declare Bava as the candidate from North constituency."

He further said that he would take a final decision after meeting his supporters.

Reacting to Shetty's statement, another Congress leader Purushotham Chitrapura said that he will join the meeting called by Shetty and urge him not to leave the party.
