Udupi: Employees of Hanuman Transport Company stage indefinite protest

Udupi, Apr 14: Employees of Hanuman Transport Company Pvt Ltd are staging indefinite protest in front of DC office Rajathadri, Manipal from April 9 demanding the fulfillment of various demands, said Rajasabh H Nandihalli, president of Hanuman Transport Company Employees Association.

Speaking at a press meet on Friday, April 13 at Udupi press club, he said, “The compmany is not paying salary on time. The director of the transport company Vilas Nayak sold the company to another private owner. As a result, many employees who are working since 25 to 30 years are in trouble.

“As per norms, a company is supposed to pay salary on the fifth of every month. But in Hanuman Transport, salary is being delayed. Those who demanded salary got assaulted by a group. Vilas Nayak is behaving like the dictator of the company by ignoring all Labour Laws.

“ESI and PF amount has not been paid to concerned departments since 8 months. The company has not paid insurance amount since 2014. Some of the employees have been suspended from the company without any enquiry and without issuing any notice. The company is doing injustice by twisting documents. Over 10 buses of Hanuman Transport Company have been transferred to private ownership. Over 23 buses are functioning at present expect those 10 buses.

“An official Nagraj and deputy commissioner of Udupi district have promised to solve our problems at the earliest,” he said.

Ravichandra, vice-president of employees' association, Rajkumar, Richard Dias, Prakash and other members were present.
