Udupi: New building of Little Rock Indian School inaugurated

Udupi, Mar 3: A new building in memory of its founder Dr C T Abraham was inaugurated at the Little Rock Indian School (LRIS) campus recently.

The new building named Founder Memorial Academia houses many facilities for its high school section including an exclusive library, IT centre, AV halls, Atal Tinkering Lab sponsored by government of India, indoor games hall etc. However, the star attraction is the 1,230 seat state-of-the-art auditorium.

The new building was inaugurated by Pramod Madhwaraj, minister for Fisheries and Youth Affairs at a simple and short programme. He paid rich tributes to the founder Dr Abraham and the high standards of education maintained by LRIS over the years. He said his own daughter has gained tremendously by being a student of LRIS, one of the finest schools of the country. He lauded the efforts of the management to provide the best auditorium in Udupi district.



Dr Roy Philip dedicated the building and thanked God for the new building. Dr Jayagowri Hadigal paid a rich tribute to Dr C T Abraham whom she had known at close quarters for over thirty years. She said that Dr Abraham was a man with sterling qualities of head and heart.

Prof Mathew C Ninan, director of LRIS welcomed the gathering, while Dr John Thomas, principal rendered the vote of thanks. Bindu Jose compered the programme, and Harikrishna D introduced the people to be honoured on the occasion.

All the trustees of Priority One India and members of the School Managing Committee, parents, students and all the faculty and staff of all the institutions on campus were present.
