Mangaluru: Eye check-up camp held at Spandana Trust

Mangaluru, Mar 24: An eye checkup camp was organized by Spandana Trust in collaboration with Lions club of Valencia, on March 23.

Lion’s president Flora Hislap inaugurated the eye screening camp by lighting the lamp. Lions Club member Ln Sumalatha spoke encouraging words that eye is an important organ and people must pay attention to keeping it in good condition and gave a call to donate eyes and bring light to visually impaired people. Lions Club secretary Ln Oswald D’cunha, members Ln Joseph Rego, Ln Quenie, Ln John Hislop, Ln Santhosh Fernades, Ln Naveen Suvarna, Lions Club director Ln Sushil Noronha and the administrator of Spandana Trust Sr Helen Fernades was present on the dais. Spectacles were donated to the patients by the lions club.



Around 150 people especially women underwent eye screening. Shiva Kumar from Dristi Optics and his team examined the patients.

Social worker Theertha welcomed the gathering. Co-coordinator Victor Vas compered the programme.
