Mangaluru, Mar 24: The district Congress on Saturday March 24 thanked the public for turning out in large numbers for the recent 'Janaashirvad' rally by Indian National Congress president Rahul Gandhi in the city and said that it was a proof that 'communal forces' in the district had begun to smell defeat.

Addressing a press meet here, district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai said, "Once again, the citizens of Dakshina Kannada proved that they are with secular ideology by turning out in thousands to Rahul Gandhi's programme held at Nehru Maidan. The communal forces were shocked by the turnout and have started to smell their defeat."

Expressing his gratitude to the public, media and Congress members, he said, "The public who are cheated by the Narendra Modi-led central government expressed their anger by participating in Rahul's rally in large numbers. Now their only hope is Rahul Gandhi and they want to see him as the next Prime Minister.

"Before coming to power, the Modi government had said that within sixty days Rs 15 lac would be deposited in every citizen's account, and within a year crores of employment opportunities would be produced. But four years have passed and the promises are still unfulfilled. To top that, Modi is asking for accounts from the state government and the people. The people of Karnataka have paid taxes and from that they are asking for grants from the centre. So what accountability is Modi and his party talking about? He is functioning like an autocratic emperor of ancient days," he said.

"The Congress government has practiced what it has preached. We have done major developmental works in all the constituencies and the people know it very well. We are confident of winning all eight constituencies in the district in the upcoming elections," he added.

Answering a question on Rahul Gandhi's visit to Kudroli temple, Rai said, "I suggested to the party that Rahul visit Kudroli temple along with visits to Rosario Cathedral and Ullal Dargah. Thousands of people gathered in these places to see and greet Rahul Gandhi. Rahul expressed his satisfaction about the response to the district Congress leaders. In the meeting, he specially mentioned the unity among the district leaders and appreciated it."

Speaking on senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary's role in the upcoming elections, Rai said, "All Congress members are unitedly working for the party. All of us obey the commands from the party headquarters. We are ready to accept any position which is given to Poojary by the party high command."

District Congress president Harish Kumar, party leaders Ibrahim Kodijal, Kavita Sanil, Shashidhar Hegde, and Mamatha Gatti were present.

Let BJP and Modi answer the following questions:

Where are 100 smart cities in 5 years?
What is the status of providing 2 crore jobs per year for our youth?
Why have Fuel and Food prices skyrocketed?
Why has an ill-planned GST ruined small and medium-sized traders?
    Why was Demonetization a DISASTER?
Why did BJP allow Mallya, Nirav, Choksi and Lalit Modi to escape?
Why are Farmers still committing suicide due to debts and no support?
Why has an ill-planned GST ruined small and medium-sized traders?
    Why was Demonetization a DISASTER?
Why has 'Make in India' collapsed?
    Why has 'Skill India' failed?
Why has the Foreign Policy with China, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Pak failed miserably?
Why hasn't black money (Rs.15 lakhs per person) been brought back to India?
Why have right-wing hooligans taken over law & order?

No doubt the canara congress leaders organised well attended meeting of the party where their young leader addressed the large crowd in both the coastal districts. Now the immediate reaction by BJP is to charge sheets against an active MLa of udipi pramodh madhwaraj. Now bjp leaers of south canara will come out of charges against their respective MLas. Because BJP now exhausted all their ideas but only attack congress MLas. If they really wanted to win coastal districts let them come out with the modi's achievements of four years, and the work done local MPs Nalinanna and shobakka, These two MPs never taken any issues in parliament, except some provocative statement in the press. Now they realised congress regained popularity in the districts.

I just talked to Bhojanna, Manja & Kaleem & they said they were paid 450 rupees for being herded in vans & attending the rally. Irrespective of whether BJP or Congress or JDS we need a revolution to uproot the present political system. This is the same money collected as roll call from road side vendors, hoteliers sales tax officials registrars excise PWD as well as huge corruption by govts who send the same to high commands which in turn sends the money for expenditure. This is the money got by sucking our blood. No media dare ask " Paisa upar tak kahan jata hai"

I am unable to find the meaning of communal & secularism. now people are fighting in the name of veerashaiva lingayath religion. but who created this problem? todays news that congress will use Janardharn Poojary under hindutva card for coming election. SDPI people says that congress is involved in recent murder cases at coastal area. forget the above, from last 70 years all the govt offices asking religion/cast details of the citizen for each work. then what is communal & secularism.

so the question is still remain same what is communal & secularism. bcoz every where religion will come into picture. these people try to fool the common man of this country in the name of communal/secularism.

Church attacks and moral policing attributed to the down fall of BJP! No BJP leader stopped the goons disturbing social peace! May be they thought such destruction will bring them victory by creating violence and blame it on Congress! Now its long way for them to unwind from religion card to development! Beef and religion agenda alone can not help them rule the state, while its fully open in Goa and Kerala.... How neighbors can east what they wish and not us??? Hypocrites right??
