Udupi, Mar 24: The helicopter in which Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math was travelling had to make an emergency landing due to a technical fault. This incident happened on Friday, March 24.

The pilot of the helicopter made the emergency landing on the playground of Sadhana school in Holalu village of Hoovinahadagali taluk in Ballari district on the evening of Friday. Fortunately, no damage was done.

Pejawar Swamiji had arrived at Hospet on the morning of Friday to take part in the 'Sarvadharma Rathotsava' programme organized by Dr Sangana Basava Swamiji of Kottureshwar Math here.

On account of Pejawar Swamiji's illness, Anand Singh, former MLA of Vijayanagar, had arranged a helicopter for him to attend the programme at Ballari. The Swamiji was returning to Udupi after taking part in the programme. However, within a short span of time, the pilot noticed a technical snag. He immediately grounded the helicopter on the playground of Sanivasa Sadhana school which was nearby and thereby averted a major mishap.

The teachers and staff of the school who were taken aback by the sudden landing of the helicopter rushed towards it as soon as the helicopter came to a halt. They enquired about the well being of the Swamiji once they came to know his presence.

Swamiji had a hearty talk with the school teachers, students and nearby villagers for more than one hour. After the technical fault in the helicopter was set right, Swamiji continued his journey and took part in the Bappanadu Brahmakalashostava on Friday night.
