Kundapur, Mar 22: "KSRTC which had incurred a loss of Rs 177 crore last year had expected an estimated loss of Rs 250 crore in the current financial year. However, the organization has made good the loss with excellent performance, financial discipline and prevention of pilferage and progressed towards achieving a profit of Rs 10 crore," said KSRTC managing director S R Umashanker.

He was speaking after laying foundation stone for the bus stand next to the highway near Yadthare junction, Byndoor at a cost of Rs five crore on 3.28 acres of land.

"KSRTC is not a profit-oriented but a service oriented organization. But it requires financial strength. Out of 63 government organizations, only ours is facing towards profit. It has secured 207 awards and has found a place in the Limca Book of Records. It has earned another feather for its achievement with a second international award yesterday," he said.

KSRTC president, MLA K Gopal Poojary who presided over the programme said that the new bus stand will accelerate the growth of Byndoor which was declared as taluk recently. “The success of the organization is backed by the hard work of officials and staff. The organization has given importance for their welfare. It has taken steps for increments in salary and protection of their health,” he said.

Yogendrappa, project director of the contracting company that filled the site submerged in water with mud and levelled it free of charge, was felicitated.

Divisional controller Deepak Kumar welcomed. Journalist Arun Kumar Shirur compered the programme and thanked. Local leaders B Jagannath Shetty, Gauri Devadiga, S Raju Poojary, Riyaz Ahmed, tahsildar Kiran Gaurayya and others were present.

Minister of State, Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Babul Supriyo tweeted a photo of a bus stand that is yet to be built in Gujarat's Rajkot saying the bus stand has been inaugurated.

Those who were privileged enough grew up watching Super Man and his antics. These days, Whatsapp forwards would make you believe that one such ‘Super-man’ lives amongst us who doesn’t eat, doesn’t sleep, and more. And the state that this man comes from i.e. Gujarat has to be Superman-ly as well. Much like Superman, a lot of the propaganda about our own Super Man and the ‘development’ in Gujarat is pure fiction. Babul Supriyo realised his folly and graciously admitted that he was fooled by a WhatsApp forward.

When it comes Karnataka what India see is 'real development'. The newly created Taluk Byndoor though it is under Lok Sabha of Shimoga constituency BJP is nowhere to be seen in actual development other than 'ribbon cutting' ceremonies and taking credit .
