Mangaluru: Rahul Gandhi visits Rosario Cathedral, Kudroli Temple, Ullal Dargah

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SB/ANK/Mohan Kuthar)

Mangaluru, Mar 20: In a bid to underscore the Congress policy of secularism, Indian National Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday March 20 visited Rosario Cathedral, Kudroli temple and later Ullal Dargah during his visit to the district.

Gandhi, who was in the city as part of the party's 'Janaashirvad' road show ahead of the Assembly elections, visited Rosario Cathedral soon after the public meet at Nehru Maidan which saw a huge turnout.

Rahul Gandhi was welcomed at Rosario Cathedral by bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza.

The Congress president joined the Christian community of Mangaluru to offer prayers in the cathedral.

Chief minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC president G Parameshwara and other state and local leaders accompanied Gandhi.

Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul DSouza, Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, NRI entrepreneur and philanthropist Ronald Colaco, Sr Rose Celine, M P Noronha, Fr J B Crasta and others felicitated Rahul Gandhi.

Fr Anil Fernandes compered the programme and Roy Castelino proposed the vote of thanks.

Rahul Gandhi then proceeded to Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Temple at Kudroli, where he was welcomed by senior Congress leader and managing trustee of the temple Janardhan Poojary.

Gandhi was honoured and accepted prasadam.

He was accompanied by CM Siddaramaiah, KPCC president Parameshwara, Mallikarjuna Kharge, MLA Mohiuddin Bava, MLC Ivan D'Souza and others.

Gandhi then left for Ullal where he paid a visit to Syed Madani Dargah. He garlanded the statue of Queen Abbakka at Abbakka Circle in Ullal. He was accompanied by chief minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, and minister, U T Khader, who represents the local constituency.

Expecting Rahul to conduct road show near Kallapu, thousands of party workers had gathered there to welcome Rahul. As the commandos asked Rahul's vehicle not to be stopped at Kallapu, the vehicle directly went to historically famous Sayyid Madani Dargah at Ullal where he offered special prayers and offered the customary 'Chadar' there.

When Rahul was on a visit to Ullal, a minor accident happened between a Duster car and a truck near Kallapu. Khader got down from the vehicle to see that the vehicles are moved aside and free movement of vehicles and people was allowed on highway. As the vehicle carrying Rahul Gandhi did not stop at Kallapu, Khader ran behind it for some time and then reached Ullal by a motor bike.

You are wrong Biruvaji. Now nearly 50% Billava's have turned against BJP, because they have realized that BJP uses them just as Use & throw tissue paper and upper caste leaders of BJP & RSS only use them by provoking them against other religions and ultimately it is BIllava boys who have to suffer the brunt and spoil their future with police cases , while upper caste Boys settle in foreign country with good jobs or profession.

You are absolutely right. The BJP/RSS mangalore has used billawa community and most of the young boys have spoiled their career, either running to police stations, or in prison or running to court. Only the family suffers.

Anybody, whether it is political party, organisation or association which provokes youngsters against other for the leaders selfish goal, one should be careful & never associate with them.

This is called an historical peace & love spreading visit by Mr. Rahul Gandhi in Mangaluru. He looks like a symbol of purity with his white attire and glowing smile which would have inspired all those who were around. He took the responsibility taking the leadership as party president and let us hope that he will acquire all the strength to build a deterrent force to counter the crooks who are presently engaged in communal disharmony in our Country.
Yogi, Yedddanna, Shobakka, Nalinere, Modi Saab time to watch TV and pacify your quest ! You can fool people by manipulating but cannot win theier hearts with hatred.

Follow the Lord and you have no fear. Rahulji, being polite, humble and be equal to all, may help you to be victorious in the coming election. I pray that you keep your promises and fulfill them once you hold the position of PM, as early as possible. We need a Prime Minister, who understand the people of this country and serve them without any difference and that we pray for you. May we women and girls find our freedom and safety on the road. One thing BJP has to learn from him is politeness, humbleness and patience towards all the allegations, insults and criticisums against him. Even if he is called by side name as PAPU.. he is very cool and shows the opposition that "Every Dog has its own day. Congratulations Rahul for your successful visit to D. K now bjps are very busy with creating jokes which will not reflect on him at all.
