Mumbai: Kannadiga Kalavidara Parishat celebrates cultural festival

Mumbai, Mar 19: Kannadiga Kalavidara Parishat under the aegis of the department of Kannada and culture of the Government of Karnataka recently celebrated its cultural festival 2018 at Narayanaguru auditorium, Santacruz east.

Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra Bhavan committee executive president Dr Shiva M Moodigere inaugurated the programme.

Parishat president Surendrakumar Hegde chaired the event. Bunts Sangha Mumbai former honorary chief secretary CA Sadashiva Shetty was guest of honour. Billavara Association Mumbai president Nithyananda D Kotian, social workers Pravin Shetty Pune, B Balachandra Rao, astrologer R L Bhat and artistes Damodar Shetty Iruvailu were present.

Dr R K Shetty sponsored 'Kalashree' award was presented to veteran artiste, author and poet Shimunje Parari.



Arts groups performed 'Nritya Sangama' cultural programme. Parishat members presented 'Suparnaka Maanabhanga' yakshagana play and a play titled 'Ee Ratreg Pageleg Yaan'. The cultural programme was compered by Tara Bangera.

Vice president Kamalaksha G Saraf welcomed the gathering and presented an introduction. Joint secretary Chandravathi Devadiga and party sang a prayer song. Founder president S T Vijayakumar Thingalaya, convener Ramesh Shivapura, Srinivasa Safalya, G T Acharya, Chandrashekar Bhat presented flower bouquets to the guests and honored them. Honorary chief secretary Baba Prasad Arasa compered the programme. Honorary treasurer P B Chandrahas proposed the vote of thanks.
