Mangaluru: Jeevandhara social service trust celebrates International Women’s Day

Mangaluru, Mar 18: Jeevandhara Social Service Trust  celebrated International Women’s Day on March 17 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart’s Primary School Hall Kulshekar. 

B M Rohini, the editor of Sahodaya bulletin was the chief guest, Sr Mariola BS provincial counselor and secretary to the Bethany Educational Society Mangalore Province was the president, Vivian Sequeira, the manager of Kotak Mahindra, Mangaluru, Mary Dias the Asst Labour Officer and Sr Anna Maria BS secretary of Jeevandhara Social Service Trust were the guests of the programme. 

Sr Rekha BS the director of Jeevandhara Centre Kulshekar welcomed the gathering. 

B M Rohini, in her message encouraged the women to be leaders in all spheres of life. She quoted the examples of some of the women of valor who fought for the freedom of this country. 

Mary Dias spoke about the various schemes for construction workers and their families as well as the auto drivers. As the election is approaching she encouraged all the women to vote and chose the capable leaders to govern the country. 

Vivian Sequeira highlighted the various saving schemes wherein women can be assured of their future. Sr Mariola BS in her presidential address called the women to be trend setter in order to create a new world order.

Women from 13 self help groups, tailoring students and those who are part of learning different vocational skills including beautician, hand embroidery students were present and participated in the programme. 

Ashwini and Bharathi presented the report. Sr Florita BS proposed vote of thanks to all those who were part of this venture. Devika Devadiga Komalkshi compered the programme.
