Bengaluru, Mar 15: IAS officer, Rashmi V Mahesh, is on childcare leave. Recently the period of her leave was extended by the state government, confirmed chief secretary (CS) of Karnataka, K Ratna Prabha.
It may be recalled that MP, Shobha Karandlaje, had questioned on Tuesday about the whereabouts of Rashmi, as she and several others were unable to contact the officer concerned since the last ten months.
It is learnt that Rashmi had sought extension of leave last week. She went on leave with effect from April 14, 2017. As per provisions, she is eligible to avail childcare leave up to a period of two years.
The CS said that her leave was extended as she is eligible for the same.
