Yogi Adityanath should spend less time lecturing Karnataka: CM on UP bypoll results

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Mar 14: Chief minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday March 14 congratulated the Samajwadi Party and the BSP for defeating the BJP in Uttar Pradesh bypolls.

Taking to Twitter, the CM also noted that unity among non-BJP parties had played a key role in defeating the BJP in Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath's own constituency.

"BJP has suffered humiliating loss in the Lok Sabha seats held by the CM & DyCM of UP. Congratulations to SP & BSP for this historic victory. Unity among the non-BJP parties has played a key role," Siddaramaiah tweeted.

Taking a dig at Yogi Adityanath, his UP counterpart, Siddaramaiah said, "Perhaps Yogi Adityanath should spend less time lecturing Karnataka on development."

It was an obvious reference to Yogi Adityanath's recent statements on development and crime rate in Karnataka, two issues he referred to even during his recent visit to Mangaluru.

Siddaramaiah had on previous occasions too called upon non-BJP parties to unite in order to defeat the NDA in next year's general elections.

The BJP suffered a huge blow after the Samajwadi Party, backed by BSP, wrested the Phulpur and Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, which were vacated by chief minister Yogi Adityanath and deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya.

Still, the adventurous souls would say, that the bypoll victories were engineered to divert attention from EVM malfunction. And that a pattern of BJP losing by-elections and winning full-fledged assembly or Lok Sabha polls is becoming way too obvious.
If you compare 1993, the last time the SP and the BSP were together and 2018, when the two forces came together to defeat the BJP in a stunning verdict, there is a marked difference.
Analysts would be tempted to see BJP’s defeat as accruing through the sheer size of SP-BSP (Dalit+OBC) alliance. But, the leaders of this alliance were themselves shocked by its scale. They were simply taken aback by the assertion of their people!
Another argument being put forward is that how on earth the BJP could allow such massive defeats when they could potentially resort to EVM tampering. Critics wondered if the EVM tampering allegations had no basis afterall. Source code EVM/firmware tampering is fact, but you need either a certain threshold and margin level for the process to kick in. The beneficiary should be trailing by a wide margin, say 20,000 votes, for the ‘tampering’ or ‘stealing the votes of others’ to be effective. Unless the margin is significant, any tampering could be counter-productive. In Gorakhpur and Phulpur, the margin never became wide at least till the 25th or 28th round of counting.
By carefully analysing the pattern of opposition victories in bye poll is deliberate act of BJP to believe the EVM are not only working for the party. All this bye polls segments are going for elections in less than one year and BJP is hardly going to lose comparing to the victory they registered in Tripura though CPI(M) got exact percentage of votes but BJP stood more seat.
This is nothing but 'Salami fraud'(stealing small pennies from millions). All the opposition party should seriously challenge how BJP register win with low percentage and higher seats.

T.A.M, Bejai, mangalore & Flavian-For your kind knowledge and information, bjpeee also not contesting the election alone, there are couple of dozen AANDU-PAANDU parties involved, it's called NDA. In UP bypoll bjpeee got full support from those AANDU-PAANDUS, where as in Rajasthan & MP bypoll and Gujarat assembly elections, Congress contested alone . And for your information in UP bypoll, only SP & BSP were together where as bjpeee got support of NDA.

It's not congress (including Rahul) who is giving head ache to BJP.
People started getting fed up and realizing the the worth of BJP expertise.
Four years are wasted on lectures and Bashanas. Implementations of badly prepared plans and U-turns. No improvement domestically other than communal hatred and Cow concerns. Neighboring countries are distancing from making some touch of in peace, intruders are enjoying killing our soldiers. Commodity prices and fuel prices have not seen betterment.
Forget about Congress. What about others ?

If there was two party contest BJP would have lost in 2014 central and UP state elections. Since votes got divided between parties BJP has won in most of the seats.

But since in the bypolls BSP and SP joined together and gave a combined fight BJP lost. We need to see how far this alliance exists. Even in Karnataka if Congress and JDS join together BJP will loose in most of the seats.

The only problem there is that HDK of JDS party cannot be trusted as he shown in the past joining hands with BJP and then turning his back. HDK is desperate for power now that he has been out of power for long. Congress cannot trust the JDS because of this because there is no guarantee that HDK will not double cross Congress party by taking his won seats and putting it in Yeddy's lap for promise of some Deputy CM's post or alternating CM like they tried last time.
BSP had also at one time allied with BJP but after Mayawati's annihilation in the Assembly elections this party is afraid of becoming extinct and so are other regional parties worried because of BJP's election machine and money power. Hence she allied with SP this time and looks like in the future too till the LS 2019 at least.
JDS is not worried as of now as they have no objections to ally with BJP for power sharing if they win a few seats here and there.
