Bengaluru: High court rejects bail to Mohammed Nalapad in assault case

Bengaluru, Mar 14 (IANS): The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday rejected the bail petition of ruling Congress MLA N.A. Haris's son Mohammad Nalapad, who was in judicial custody for allegedly assaulting a youth at a city centre cafe on February 17.

"The bail petition has been dismissed," said Justice S. Harish Kumar in the order.

Nalapad, 24, along with six other accused in the assault case, was sent to the central jail in the city outskirts, after a city court sent them to 14-day judicial custody for investigation.

A sessions court had earlier rejected Nalapad's bail plea on March 2.

"The judge felt that the attack on the youth was ghastly and hence dismissed the bail petition after going through the evidences," special public prosecutor M.S. Shyam Sundar told media here.

Meanwhile, Nalapad's counsel C.V. Nagesh told media that he would appeal against the single order before a division bench of the High Court or the Supreme Court.

Nalapad and the six accused were arrested on February 19 after they surrendered at the Cubbon Park police station in the city centre and a kilometre away from Farzi Cafe in the upscale UB City Mall where the youth (Vidvat) was brutally assaulted following an argument.

Haris, a two-time lawmaker from the Shantinagar assembly segment in the city centre, had earlier tendered an apology in the state legislative assembly for the violent conduct of his son.

On the contrary Gujarat and U.P high court acquitted all the accused in gujarat riots and fake encounter cases belong to ruling party members and in U.P Yogi influensed to give clean chit himself for his involvement in riots cases.. This is the difference between two political rivals.

If only Yeddy and Reddy committed such offences and naturally they have to bear the consequences, which ever party was in power and whether they are newly married, yet to marry or never marrying. Now the question is: what about the FIRE who questioned the Police officer on duty and shouting at him. He too must bear the consequences.

do you think ,rapes are a small issue?whoom do you say wake up?Men should be awake and respect women.Govt.should give hard punishment to rapers. Here I find it is good bail was rejected. He must experience what is when one goes too far with their politic fathers name.I but dont understand why should his father ask excuse for his sons deeds in Assembly.Afterall son is a adult,he should have asked excuse self with the victim first.and later with his father for ashaming his political party.Dont allow him to comeout for atleast 10years.But in India one dont know what can happen.let him experience co prisoners ,how they squeeze money from him ,and when not responding, clear cuts from them.Thats better.

In so called pub attack no one has complained against the accused nor any girls who have been said to attacked given witness or filed case against anybody
Nobody was admitted to hospital nor the alleged ppl have followed the girls to their home .
Courts go by witness and complaint filed by the injured /, victims

All parents should teach their children good morals, simplicity, humbleness, love and respect for all elders. Kindness and sympathy towards poor, disabled and old people. And value of money. Especially love and fear of God. If you want a peaceful, happy retired life with your children and grandchildren. Don't just teach them to eat and enjoy and ruin their life. Parents you will be responsible for their mis-doings.
