Mangaluru, Mar 9: Officials of Anti-Corruption Bueau on Friday March 9 raided the residence of Udupi excise deputy superintendent of police, Vinod Kumar. They also raided Vinod's residence at Kuntikan here, and the excise office in the city, it is gathered. In addition to the office and residence of the officer, the residence of his driver was also targetted.

Sources said that the raids were conducted based on a complaint of possession of disproportionate assets filed in Udupi.

The officials collected certain documents and also found some cash during these raids. As per information, the residence of Vinod's father-in-law at Byndoor was also raided. The details are not yet known.

It is said that the raid was led by ACB superintendent of police, Shruti. Raids were conducted based on complaint lodged at Udupi against Vinod, it is learnt.

As per information, simultaneous raids were conducted on the excise department offices including Mangaluru, Dharwad, Belagavi and Gangavathi.

The office and residence of the assistant executive engineer, Gangavathi, Vijayakumar, was also raided.

The residence of assistant director of agriculture, Kadur, at Chikkanayakanahalli near Kadur was raided. The residence of assistant executive engineer in the department of rural drinking water and sanitation, Appi Reddy, at Mulbagal, Kolar, was raided.

The office and residence of Rajeshwari Jainapura, special land acquisition officer of Krishna upper bank project, was among the spots raided. The residence of her husband was also raided by officials.

Officials are pooling information on the basis of documents they have put together during the raids. More details are awaited.
