Mysuru: Barbaric honour killing - Father kills daughter, burns body in field

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (RJP)

Mysuru, Mar 2: A man allegedly killed his daughter by poisoning and later burnt her body for being in love with a Dalit youth.

The incident was reported from Gollanabeedu village in HD Kote taluk of the district.

Sushma (22) is the deceased.

Sushma's father Kumar was arrested by police on Thursday, March 1.

Sushma, who belongs to the Vokkaliga community, was in love with Umesh from Alanahalli village on the outskirts of Mysuru.

Sushma had eloped with Umesh two years ago. Some village elders had brought her back to the village after advising both Umesh and Sushma to stay away from each other.

Recently Sushma's parents told her to marry a boy from their community. She opposed the marriage and insisted on marrying only Umesh. Her parents allegedly poisoned her on February 22 in a fit of rage and burnt her body in their field. Later Kumar even ploughed the land so that no one would doubt that Sushma was killed.

As Sushma disappeared suddenly, it raised suspicion among the villagers. Some relatives of Kumar's family alerted the police.

Police registered a suo moto case and took up investigations.

Subsequently police arrested Kumar and brought him to the land where he had burnt the body of Sushma and conducted a mahazar.

Brahmin or Dalit, Hindu or Muslim, Sikh, Christians, Buddhist The one God has never discriminated us at all when it comes to colour of blood the air we breath.
Is Brahmin or Dalit can differentiate the blood when in need? Is this our 'Digital India'?

Lest Reshma's soul rest in peace. My heart goes down by this incident. Just imagine the cruel mentality of parents. Worst than anything. They should be also burnt in the same way alive.

You should first ask this question to 'honor killers' Akbar Ali & Shahnaaz who killed their daughters lover Ankit Saxena in Delhi recently.
Also, just open some muslim matrimonial sites and see how many sub groups are there within your community and their preferences.

Lets not justify the killing by saying that Akbar and Shajahan did it, so its correct what we are doing now. We can't go back to medieval or ancient era of anarchy or monarchy. They were horrible for human values.

No one with sound mind and sensible human values will support Akbar and Shajahan for their atrocities done in medieval era. They did it and paid for their sins.
No one with sound mind and human values should support what this girls father did too.
Both are wrong, both are punishable, both are to be condemned.

Lets not bring religion in every crime especially and lets also not say what one faith did is correct and what other faith did is wrong and vice-versa.

An innocent girl murdered by her own father for loving a Dalit boy and all BJP crackpots are silent otherwise they will be beating drums and blowing trumpets all over TV channels if it involved a minority or any person linked to the opposition parties.
    Shame on Pratap Simha.

Pratap (Paper) Simha would have protested if this would have happened in some other constituency. This is his constituency and no one should question him. You are Anti-National if you question him.

He speaks of all global issues not concerning to him whatsoever (bcoz he thinks he is smartest) and he can speak non-sense of anyone based on communal angle and even personal derogatory remarks. But when it comes to his constituency even if there is murder he wont speak. Yesterday he was speaking of his capacity and he dont even have a capacity to speak on this murder.

A best example for the saying "Holier than thou" and also best example for "Hypocrisy".

BJP, RSS, BD, VHP, HYV, HRV, HJS, SRS, SS etc., Talking about Hindu, Hindutva. They need Dalits for all their activities. But, when it comes to Love, Marriage, Temple, Their is a huge discrimination.

However, What is the HONOR in "Honor Killing" ?

Feel sorry for the deceased girl. Didn't she have her choice to lead a life on her own? What kind of a world we are living in. If father didn't like the guy should have got her married to some other person of his choice and caste... killing your own daughter for religion/caste? This world will go down very badly soon.

So I am sure Mysore MP Pratap Simha will take up this matter and start protesting now.... Why not?? People like Simha, Hegde, Shoba Akka, Nalin Kateel, CT Ravi have protested against any hindu being killed. So will they do it now?

This the problem you have to counter if you born in a hindu family. Being an hindu you cant marry to him/her within the community except few selective. What kind of logic is this? You never know what will happen to your destiny when your own bread feeder brutally take away your life from this world forever..
Casteism is the major evil practice in the community which is letting down the religion. This in one of the core reasons hindus are attracting towards other religions. Mohan Bhagawaths slogan "All hindus are brothers" becomming mockery of the community. Awareness and lawenforcement is need of the hour at this moment.

Just like boys Girls too have right and opportunity to fall in love anytime/anywhere and with anyone of their choosing.
    It's Individual choice
No one including Parents much less villagers should have a say in the personal matter.

Burn the father BUT Poison him before-hand!

Let him experience what the poor girl went through for LOVE!
