Mysuru: Pratap Simha ridicules Prakash Rai for value of defamation suit

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (MS)

Mysuru, Mar 1: Pratap Simha, member of parliament (MP) took a dig at actor Prakash Rai over the defamation case filed by the latter for Rs 1 on him and said that the amount denotes his actual worth in the society.

He was speaking to scribes here on Wednesday, February 28 and giving his clarification against the suit filed by Prakash Rai in a city court here over the post, which the MP shared on social media that stated 'Raj slept with a woman when his son died'.

Simha said, "Raj should have filed the defamation case for three paise (muru kaasu) as that is his actual worth among the film lovers and the general public for his cinema and personal life."

"People of Kodagu and Mysuru district know my caliber and that is why I have been elected by them. His notice of the case was received by my office when I was not in town. The sender's name was mentioned as Prakash Raj from Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. I was bewildered by the name as I could not recognize the person. Then I had to write a letter to the sender to clarify whether his name is Prakash Raj or Prakash Rai. It is quite deplorable that certain individuals keep names as per their suitability like it is done on the silver screen," he replied to the query of his reaction to Prakash Rai's comments on him.

To the query of journalists on his opinion about Raj's view on Ananth Kumar Hegde, central minister, Simha said, "It is really amusing to note that Rai is asking people to refrain from voting for Hegde. He does not know what capabilities are required to turn a person into a leader of people. Let him contest, win an election and show." The MP also challenged Raj to contest from Congress party itself.

"Chief Minister is responsible for the law and order of a state. How come Prime Minister Narendra Modi is questioned for the loss of law and order in the state of Karnataka? Raj seems to be a villain not only in reel but real life also," he added.

It looks as if for some people everything is measured with money. How much would these people pay for their honor, love of their child or parents, wife or husband and friends? Even if no money is paid, but an apology is offered, that is sufficient for a MAN OF HONOR. Note the key phrase: "man of honor". Men of honor do not measure themselves with money. Now, if there is fiscal loss due to someone's actions, that is a different situation and then money certainly comes into picture and the amount should be commensurate with the loss the person suffered.

Pratap Simha’s supporters allegedly hurled abusive comments about the Kannada warriors on his fan page.
Pratap Simha, BJP MP from Mysuru, for alleged abusive comments made about Kittur Rani Chennamma, Belavadi Mallamma and Onake Obavva, by those claiming to be his followers.
The three women allegedly abused are popular warriors. Rani Chennamma was the Queen of Kittur, a princely state in present-day Karnataka, who lead an armed rebellion against the British East India Company in 1824. Belawadi Mallamma was the queen of Belawadi who fought against the Marathas in the 17th century and Onake Obavva is heralded for single-handedly fighting Hyder Ali’s army while defending Chitradurga Fort.
When this 'Katale Jagathina bettale maunsha' don't have respect for the Kannada warriors what respect he will have it to Prakash Rai who has produced more than 300 movies and won half dozens national awards.
If one closely follow his Tweeter trail he don't even left his own party IT cell abusing down the pants words.
I wonder how such a great city of 'Wodeyars' which know to hub the center for Indian languages elect a low caliber person who depende his whole life cut paste for others?
    Jai hind

Just look at how ridiculous this so called "simha" is!. The point about the defamation is not money, but being guilty of defaming somebody's honour. For Mr. Simha, the measure is money which shows his mindset and lack of understanding of good values. Prakash Rai has shown that he is not after money and he is fighting for democracy and human dignity, which might be difficult to understand for Mr. Simha and people like him.

400 people died in Syria in the last 5 days, most of them were children.
we should focus our concern on humanity, should condemn those killing innocent people in the name of religion.
Kinds of Prakash Raj/Rai show bothering towards some individuals death only, would be good if he shows his concern towards mass killings.
