Kuwait, Feb 28: Billava Sangha Kuwait (BSK) members successfully organized the fifth season of cricket tournament on February 23 at Abbasiya cricket ground.
The event commenced with a Guru Shloka and Muhurtham of breaking coconut by president Raghu Poojary. The tournament was inaugurated with symbolic play of the game by the chief guests Sunil Kumar and Sudhir Kumar. BSK applauded its sports committee and the ground marking team who patiently cleared the surrounding area of all the
trashes and empty water bottles.
Teams which participated in the tournament played the game with great sportsman spirit and entertained the spectators all through the games.
The final match had the most thrilling finish which was enjoyed by all spectators. The winning team of the tournament was Baidashree Cricketers and runners- up were Tulunadu Cricketers – Abbasiya. Trophies and medals were distributed to all the participants of the winners and runners-up teams as well the trophies were given to the outstanding performers like ‘Man of the Match’ Sunil (Baidashree Cricketers – A), ‘Man of the Series’ Sharath (Baidashree Cricketers - A) and ‘Bowler of the Series’ Suresh (Tulunadu Cricketers – Abbasiya)
Seven teams Riggae Friends, Billava Brothers – A, Billava Brothers – B, Tulunadu Cricketers Abbasiya, AbbasiyaBillava Cricketers, Baidashree Cricketers – A, and Baidashree Cricketers – B, participated in the tournament. All the matches were fairly umpired by Shivaraj Keriya Gowda and the sports committee.
This season, BSK also organized musical chair game for ladies as well as kids. In ladies group, Sowmya Avin and Ashwita Surendra won the first and second prize respectively, while in the kids group Ayush K Bangera and Rakshit R Poojary shared the first and second prize respectively.
Chitrek Bangera sponsored the breakfast; Vishwas Karkera sponsored the tournament trophy, medals and other prizes and Venugopal and Prabhakar Bola sponspored the chair, table and water for the tournament.
The event was gracefully hosted by Mithun Vishwanath and Amarnath Suvarna and capably photographed by Sandeep Kumar Attavar. Tasty lunch was served by Mughal Tanduri Abbasiya.
BSK Management thanks all the members, sports committee and sponsors for their support in the successful conclusion of the fifth season of the cricket tournament.
