Kuwait: Jolly XI emerge champions in Myobrace Cup cricket tourney

Kuwait, Feb 28: Myobrace Cup 2018, a cricket tournament organized by Denis Barboza and the Modern Star Boys, was held at Sabhan ground on the February 25. Jolly XI won the finals to emerge champions.

Matches began early in the morning with the preliminary rounds consisting of 10 teams on a knockout basis. This was then followed by the semifinals and finals which were keenly fought between Jolly XI and Bombay Brothers.

Bombay brothers reached the finals by beating Modern Star Boys in the semifinals, Jolly XI Warriors reached by beating by Apparels Hero. In the finals, Bombay Brothers won the toss and elected to field first. Jolly XI with major contribution from all players managed to score 141 runs in the allocated 10 overs. The top scorer was Bharath with 40 runs.



Bombay Brothers needed 142 runs to reach the target and they managed to score 114 runs. The top scorer was Asar scoring 34 runs. Bharath was declared ‘Man of the Match’ for his score of 40 runs.

Chief guest Dr Mohamad Ali Syed, Dr Indeevar and Dr Anil Kumar handed over the trophies to the respective captains Rajeev of team Jolly XI and Sunil of team Bombay Brothers. They were congratulated for playing good cricket.

Denis Barboza and Modern Star Boys thanked all the participating teams for taking part in the tournament. The cup was sponsored by Myobrace team, Dr Mohamad Ali Syed, Dr Indeevar and Dr Anil Kumar.

All the umpires, scorers, photographer Naveen Cedric and Modern Star boys were also thanked for their help.
