Mangaluru: Commerce students put their skills to test at SAEC 'Enthusia-2k18' fest

Mangaluru, Feb 25: Talent abounded at St Aloysius Evening College (SAEC) here on Saturday February 24 as the PG department of commerce, SAEC, conducted 'Enthusia-2k18', a postgraduate commerce fest in the LCRI hall of the college.

Allen C A Pereira, former chairman and managing director of Bank of Maharashtra was the chief guest. Fr Pradeep Sequeira, finance officer, St Aloysius College (Autonomous) presided over the programme.

A C Pereira, while addressing the students, emphasised on the need for developing soft skills in the highly competitive world. He also said that life is a journey and we are all tourists, and in the process he gave a call to become agents of change by transforming the lives of the people.

Principal Dr Manohar V Serrao, PG coordinator Ravi Shetty, HoD of commerce Dr Donald Lobo, convener Swathi Bhat, student council president Hithesh Madivala, and ALCom secretary Gavin Lasrado were also present on the occasion.

Walter Nandalike, founder and managing director of Daijiworld, was the chief guest during the valedictory. He also gave away the prizes. Chris Miranda and Deepthi D’Souza were the MCs of the inaugural and the valedictory respectively.

Various events viz Growth Hackers, Mind Spark, Markathon, Eminent Monarch and Smarty Quest related to various fields like Marketing, Quiz, Management & Entrepreneurship were conducted. The events provided a platform for all the participants to exhibit their talents in various commerce related areas.

The Fest provided an environment for celebrating ideas. The objective of this fest were to enhance teamwork, analytical and decision making skills of students and provided exposure of the realities of the corporate world.

As many as eight colleges actively participated in Enthusia-2k18 and the total student count was 69.

The overall championship of Enthusia-2k18 was bagged by Canara College, Mangaluru. The runner-up trophy was bagged by University Evening College College, Mangaluru.
