At population control event, BJP MLA says Hindus should ‘produce more children’

New Delhi, Feb 24 (NIE): Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Vikram Saini on Friday said Hindus should not stop producing children until a law for population control is passed. “Until a law on population control comes into existence, my Hindu brothers, you should not stop. You should keep producing babies,” Saini, who represents Khatauli constituency in Muzaffarnagar district, said while addressing a population control campaign programme.

He added that Hindus have accepted the two-child policy, but others have not. “The law should be equal for everyone. This country is for everyone.” He added: “When we had two children, my wife said we did not need a third one, but I said we should have four to five.”

This is not the first time that the Khatauli MLA has made a controversial statement. In January, Saini claimed India is a country for Hindus as it is known as ‘Hindustan’. He, however, clarified his statement later, saying his outburst was against Pakistan and not Muslims.

Prior to that, Saini, an accused in the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots case, sparked controversy when he threatened to break the limbs of those who kill and disrespect cows.

Last March, RSS Joint General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale had said the decline in Hindu population, especially in states like West Bengal, was a “matter of serious concern to the unity and integrity of the country”.

Is BJP MLA and RSS leaders think Hindu women of India 'baby' producing factory?
From Muslims overtaking Hindus to Bangladeshi immigration, much of the right wing’s rhetoric on demographics is belied by data.
This is an extremely popular notion in the Sangh Parivar. Drumming up of fears of a minority swamping a majority is standard right wing political strategy and it is no different in India.
At these rates, for Muslims to overtake Hindus, India’s population would need to be almost five times the current global population. In other words, this is clearly an impossible scenario.
In the rough and tumble of India’s politics, religious rhetoric often goes a long way electorally. It is therefore not surprising that, in spite of the mountains of contrary data, the Sangh Parivar's demographic scaremongering has managed to achieve a significant amount of traction.
Then why don't he write to PMO and ask ban all abortion clinics, Contraceptives and surgeries and aadhar card with one dozen to all Hindu couples?
How will PM Modi government will feed so many mouths, who himself advicing to sell 'Pakora' for living?

Given the deplorable health and financial status of most Indian families (which will invariably consist of highest percentage of Hindus, and no much financial help to them by their own community) who will bear the burden of giving the mothers and children good healthcare, nutrition and education so that they don't suffer from malnutrition and other such diseases that has incapacitated the poor of our country?

Oh, yes. I will start today itself. I will give my restless nights. But make sure of giving all facilities from government, such as education, medical, shelter. Because currently I cannot afford for more than two. Mr. Saini, if you assure me of all these, not only me whole india will be following your advice.

Who? Married ones or unmarried ones ?

Better to advise to get married ( including those leaders ) first and produce 11 each. Make sure they produce more than other communities.

kas..one more option is there..in some countries bridegrooms to give all necessity things to bride's family as dowry. Bridegroom family cannot able to afford sum as such they opt to go to third countries to bring brides which seems cheaper. By which most of girls from respective countries remain unmarried..even crossed certain age. Better we argue with modiji's govt opt for deal with such countries and let him prove...world is One Family.

Excellent ! Take the advice and produce ! Carry books to their exam hall to help them copy and when such practice is curtailed, drop out and migrate to other states as labourers ! When you aren't in a position to marry decently, rape the girls who come your way !

Excellent advice from public figures, from those people elected seeking development !

    Ivar,

If a person follows Church's teachings, s/he will never resort to abortion because youth heading for marriage are taught a natural birth control that doesn't even require contraceptives. You don't believe this - do you ? Obviously !

As such, Christians decide in advance as to how many children they will go for, not requiring politicians advising them. As for abortion as a common problem, the church advises against killing a fetus, and rather giving birth and giving away in adoption. Totally contradicting this minister's clan killing girl baby after girl baby in order to bear a male heir.

    Pathethic !
