Mangaluru: Techno-cultural fest ‘Incridea’ draws huge crowds at NMAMIT

Mangaluru, Feb 21: NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte celebrated its annual day and national level inter-collegiate techno-cultural annual fest ‘Incridea-2018’, amidst great enthusiasm from students and participants from different parts of India. The four-day event held between from February 14 to 17 brought together a large number of students from several top colleges who participated in a wide range of events: from technical events to cultural events. The campus was filled with infectious energy as students displayed a good mix of companionship and a competitive spirit that added to the electrifying atmosphere of the fest.

‘Incridea’ is the national level techno-cultural fest of NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte. It is a celebration of all forms of technical and cultural talents.



The annual day of NMAM Institute of technology was inaugurated by H Kumar, managing director of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) and the annual Fest Incridea-2018 was inaugurated in the campus by Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodabidri on February 14 at 9.30 am. The function was presided over by N Vinaya Hegde, president, Nitte Education Trust and Chancellor, Nitte University.

During this fest, evenings were reserved for brilliant cultural events, including fashion show event held on Day 1. The major attraction on the 2nd day included a stand-up comedy show from Sahil Shah, who is one of the founding members of East India Comedy. A classic performance by world class speed painting artist Vilas Nayak for 45 minutes was organised during the 2nd half of the entertainment programme.

The DJ Night on the 3rd day indeed was a big hit as it gave students from various colleges the chance to let their hair down and mingle with each other. The 4th day of entertainment programme was occupied with variety performances by the students of various departments of Engineering.

Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, principal of the Institute, Dr I Ramesh Mithanthaya, vice-principal and dean academics, Dr Srinivasa Rao BR, vice-principal & COE, Dr Sudesh Bekal, dean (Research), Dr Rajesh Shetty dean, admissions and alumni affairs and Dr Subramanya Bhat, dean (Student Welfare) and the coordinator of the fest were present for the prize distribution ceremony that recognised the efforts and talents of the winners in each category. Vaibhav D’Souza, student coordinator congratulated the winners and thanked everyone for participating and helping in organising the fest with such zeal. Nitte Institute of Communication bagged the overall championship and St Joseph College of Engineering, Mangaluru received the runner-up trophy of ‘Incridea 2018’.
